For the second time I have decided to rescue a tournament. And for the second time, it is because I'm still in it!

This is WM's World Cup 2010.

For those who were participating, the round robin portion of the event is already completed. Therefore, half of the players have been eliminated already, leaving us with 64 players in 16 teams of 4.

In this post you will find the rules, map and settings, and teams/players that have moved on to the bracket portion of the event. At this time a number of players, including the former T.O., may not be continuing in this event. I will contact the players remaining should I have any concerns about their further participation in the event.

The second post contains the bracket for the final 16 teams, and it will be updated as teams progress.

[spoiler=Rules - PLEASE READ - This contains all rules pertaining to game play and participants]Each match consists of 4 games. Each game is like a goal in Football. In case of a tie, the match goes into overtime and a 5th game will be played. The winner advances.

For each match, you will receive 4 invites to the games to join from me. You need to join in 24 hours. After that, I will contact you by PM to find out if you will continue on in the tournament.

If one or more players do not join, I will contact the other players on the team to find out if they know the status of their teammate. If they cannot continue to play, I will ask the teammates if they would like to choose a new partner (players previously eliminated are not allowed) that will need to within join within 24 hours, or I may pick up a player in the "Play Now reserves" area under the Tournament tab, again, needing to join within 24 hours. If none of these allow for a player to be found, the team will be eliminated.[/spoiler]

Thanks! I don't like seeing things get started and not finished, especially when I'm still involved, regardless whether it's at work or at play.

First partial score is in as the Netherlands has taken a quick 2-0 lead over Ghana. All others are still 0-0, but that will change soon!

Uruguay has also scored opening a 1-0 lead over my beloved Chile

Honduras has also scored - 1-0 lead against Serbia.

Netherlands goes up 3-0 and moves on to the next round!

Cameroon and Spain have now scored making their games 1-0

And Ghana scored the final goal in a 3-1 lose to the Netherlands.

Uruguay moves with a 3-0 lead over Chile, and Serbia has scored to make it a 2-1 deficit to Honduras.

Slovakia has tied Mexico 1-1

Ivory coast took their game 3-1.

Yeah, we should have lost that other game but the ivoirians staged a remarkable comeback after I was red-carded... or something. It could go 4-0.

Cameroon is up 3-0 and will move on to play Uruguay in the round of 8.

Rodion replaces killmanic for Team Uruguay. Game has started between Cameroon and Uruguay.

The Swiss are about to finalize a 3-1 victory over Italy after being down 1-0. They move on to play The Netherlands. Invites are on the way.

Mexico and Slovakia are going into extra time - game invites have been sent. Looks like Korea has the momentum going against Spain even with it tied 1-1, and Honduras is really putting the pressure on Serbia in extra time.
