Non-CC maps art thread

Ok... I thought a thread like this could be fun.
I'm sure most of the mapmakers here have maps they've made that are not for CC gameplay... maybe they were made for practice, maybe for fun, or maybe they were going to become a CC map at first but the idea got dropped... Either way, this is your chance to get some feedback for your art.
So don't be shy, share your artwork!
Here's all the maps posted so far, I'll update this post when I can...

Great idea Natty!
You'd be right too. Here's a map I did of North America a few years back.

Nice work TBK. I wonder about the upper half of the map though... did the map get twisted in the scanner or did you draw it like that?

neither, I never scanned it, that's a digital photograph. The twist at the top is just the natural curve in the paper as recorded from a camera about 5 feet away.

Let's just say it's in that general area...
For the record - those photographs are badly outdated... there's lots of buildings in that area built within the last 5 years that don't show up on those photos...
Btw, looking at it now, Helsinki could actually make a nice CC map...

This is a painting about the size of a postcard of Istanbul. I added the sea words by photoshop.

Well, if it was just the walled in area, then it'd be Constantinople or Byzantion... depends on what time period you're looking at. Istanbul spreads over both sides of the Bospohorus and on the opposite side of the Golden Horn.

One thing that I always challenge myself to do is attempt to try either North America, the Americas together, or the entire world all by hand and with no tools/maps to cheat off of. My best one is from 2 years ago but I don't have it with me. I'll try to have it scanned to me. It's my best, but it's still pretty bad =(

If my standard of cool is nerdy, then yes.
