Everyone in South Dakota must be forced to buy a gun?

I don't know about this, but if they pass this law...I guess I'm gonna finally buy a gun.

I guess they will be forcing me to buy health care...so why not force me to buy a gun too?

I don't agree with the law, and I think it is just being introduced as a political stunt against the Federal health care bill...but for the record, I do not agree with the health care bill as well.

I love how South Dakota can make Democrats look like a bunch of retards.

By acting like retards themselves?

And why force people to buy killing instruments? Couldn't they make their point with strawberry scented stuffed animals or something? Retards who think this makes Dems look like retards feel free to comment.

At least owning a gun is a right specifically labeled in the Constitution....more of a case for this than a right to healthcare....

Exactly! Health care is stated to be a right, so you MUST purchase health insurance to exercise that right. The right to bear arms is ACTUALLY a right, so you must purchase a gun to insure your right is being protected. It's completely logical, which is why it'll be completely missed by the liberal population.

What will be a true outrage is if the health care mandate is upheld but the gun mandate is struck down.

AOG, are you saying gun ownership is not a right? I'm confused. or else, how is NS's statement about "completely logical" trolling?

Ok, I'm just going to pretend that you guys are not trolling.

No, I never said it wasn't a right. FORCING people to own a gun is as retarded as forcing people to buy healthcare (I personally am not aware of why they intend on forcing people to buy healthcare, because I never cared enough to look into it, but that's pretty fucking stupid). You guys are "stooping to their level" and are being incredibly childish in thinking "if they do it then we're gonna do it too!" I thought conservatives were for less government. This is clearly not less government.

Not at all. I get the joke. I don't think either guns or healthcare should be forced on anyone. But I do see the point they made.

I don't. I see this as more stupid bullshit like two 7 year olds in a "fight".

It helps both sides. Give everyone a gun and soon there's gonna be a lot of healthcare?

Guns prevent the need for health care.

If 10 guys come up on you, and you have a gun, you are not going to the hospital that night.

Self defense comes wayyyyy before healthcare.

Right, because now potentially 10 other people will be in the hospital, or you'll still get shot. If these 10 guys are truly serious, a gun won't stop them.

come on now. Just because someone has a gun does not mean shots are going to go off.

A gun is an effective deterrent when other's try to initiate force upon you.

Show of hands, who has been shot at before? I'm guessing that I'm the only one here that someone else has tried to kill. =;

And no, I don't want to take your guns away, but no I don't want more guns.
