Will you wait and farm a weaker opponent or join fast hoping no one wants to play you.

Round format.

Round 1. The 16 players will be invited to join one game of there choice. There will be 9 games created for this round so two players will get through to round 2 without playing a game. This is known as a freebie win.
9 games / 16 players / 2 freebie winners.
Round 2. The remaining 9 players will again be given a choice of games. This time 5 games will be created and only one player will get a freebie win.
5 games / 9 players / 1 freebie winner.
Round 3. The remaining 5 players will again be given a choice of games. This time 3 games will be created and only one player will get a freebie win.
3 games / 5 players / 1 freebie winner.
Round 4. Remaining 3 players will again be given a choice of games. This time 2 games will be created and only one player will get a freebie win.
2 games / 3 players / 1 freebie winner.
Final. As it is possible for one of the finalist to get in without playing a game, the final will be a best of 5 matches. Win 3 to win the tournament.

how to get into games

I will create all games for each round with a different password. As soon as this is done, I will send a PM to all players at the same time informing them of game creation and the password. All games will be posted in the second post of the thread. just click on a game and enter it. If you are lucky, you will not get an opponent to play , or you get to choose your opponent.

This will be repeated for each round apart from the final which will only consist of 2 players. For the final I will use invites.

You will have 48 hours to join a game in each round. Any player not doing so in round 1 will be replaced by a reserve player. From round 2 onwards another freebie win will be awarded.

With 9 games, you mean 2 games won't be played? 7 games will decide a winner and two players are in the other 2 games, meaning they won't play and go to the next round?
Yes, two games will not be played as only one person will of entered the game. At the end of the round, those games will be dropped and the person who was in the game will go through to round 2. It will be the same for the other rounds but with only one game getting a freebie winner.
Each player gets a personal pm with game number and pass? Or can you join any?
I will send a PM to all players simultaneously with the tournament thread linked asking them to join one game. In post 2 you will find the nine game numbers for round 1, again linked so you can just click on the number and go straight to the game. Use the password that will be sent in the PM to join the game.
What happens if the 16 players join 8 games and the 9th stayed empty?
If all players decide to join the 8 games then it will be the winners who go through. No freebie winner in round one.
If the same player gets 3 times freebie, he needs only 2 victories to win the tournament, which is normaly not allowed (minimum of three wins to win a tournament)?
The final is a best of 5 match ups. The winner must play 5 games and win 3 of them.

The player numbers are like this for my ease and it will be up to each player on which game they choose to play in.
1 plays 2 in game 1.
3 pays 4 in game 2.
5 plays 6 in game 3.
7 plays 8 in game 4.
9 plays 10 in game 5.
11 plays 12 in game 6.
13 plays 14 in game 7.
15 plays no one in game 8 so gets a freebie win.
16 plays no one in game 9 so also gets a freebie win.

Some off the above games were entered by one player more times than the tournament allowed. I have looked through the games and found which ones needed to be voided, which players get through to round 2 and which players are knocked out.
The result is that one game needs to be finished, 2 players go through to round 3 and 4 players need to re play a game. All this can be seen in the PM's that I have posted in the thread.

Choose whichever game you want. So if you fancy your chances against (example-HighlanderAttack), play him. If not, choose another player or empty game. It will be done on a first come basis.

I absolutely detest no spoil games. But you never know, if this one is successful, could have one next time around.

No need to fear the HA.

And if everyone does not play him for the 4 rounds, he goes straight into the final. Either way, someone has to play HA.

As this is the first round and the TD's are watching us, I am going to play it safe in this first PM.

and look in post 2. You will find the nine game numbers waiting for you. Click on any one you like and join it. If you do not like the player already in it, come out and look in another one. As I said, the game you play is up to you.
The second way is, go to game finder and look under tournament, find Freebie Winner, click on it and search. You will see all nine games pop up. Choose your game and enter it.

Remember, the player you play is up to you. You can wait to see if a weak opponent is free, or hope that no one wants to play you.
