I vote Assumption, Nebraska(if Assumtion, Nebraska will have them) for these reasons:
1) It's pretty much the geographical center of the country, making it more accessible to all of the people.
2) Newscasters will finally be telling the truth when they say "Barack Obama spoke in Assumtion today and said he has signed a bill that will move the economy in the right direction."
3) err...wait...

...#1 again...
EDIT: 4) Shanty-town!

Actually the geographic center of the US according to Google maps is in between Independence and Coffeyville, Kansas
And moving it to Assumtion would not make it more accessible because I assume there are no direct flights to Assumtion from every major city in the US

Moving the capital would provide thousands of jobs, though I could think of more worthwhile things for the government to be spending money on.

Since around 2002 I've endorsed moving the capital to St. Louis and rebuilding The Hanging Gardens of Babylon there.

No, it should move to Hollywood, isn't the whole system just fiction anyway?

But the football players are required to have some athleticism. Some guys, pitchers especially (like the C.C. Sabathia type) don't seem to have much athleticism other than good hip movement and arm/wrist/hand strength.

Baseball pitchers are not athletes because the motion they use to throw a ball is not a natural athletic motion.

Thats why I said "pretty much".

But it
is just off of I-80 which runs PRETTY MUCH from New York to San Cramcrisco.

No, it wouldn't. Each member of congress would be required to bring their own blue tarps and corrugated tin sheets to construct their offices. They'd pay their staff out of their own pockets and no more interns(destroying a country shouldn't be a legitimate internship).

I'm pretty sure if it became the capital, direct flights would be made possible.

*Insert tasteless 9/11 joke here* I don't think you can just put an airport in the middle of nowhere and expect people to go, also, with the no fly-over rules in DC now, there probably wouldn't be an airport, train/bus station, or even grassy knoll within 100km of this hypothetical capital.

The flatland will make building the moat that much easier.
