So, Obama comes up with a plan to cut the government and it seems Republicans might actully agree, albiet grudgingly.

We should do it, but $3B over 10 years? After all the spending increases under this administration it seems much ado about nothing.

I'll take what the other team gives us for now, but I hope he doesn't try to claim he is about smaller government now.

Yeah, I believe Phatscotty posted either somewhere in this forum or in Live Chat that Obama's desire through this consolidation is to cut $3 billion over 10 years. The government spends more than $3 billion every single day. This move is purely political and will have ultimately miniscule impact on the massive size and spending of the federal government.

Obama coming up with a plan to cut government is like saying he wants to cut the size of the federal debt by way of borrowed stimulus spending.
