The Official Rules of A Risktaker's Race
This tournament is expected to run until the end of December.

Random.org will be used when randomness is needed.
The tournament organiser has the final say on all facts connected to play.

Introduction
70 set off on Start. 81 tiles and 38 maps ahead. Luck of the dice--be gone! With 6 1v1 games per round, you now have the power to win games and thus control your very own race towards the finish line!

But beware; go one round without a win, roll a 0, and you'll see yourself kicked from the board! Can you survive the fearsome trek across five realms of Conquer Club play? Only one can seize the day and seize the board as champion of "A Risktaker's Race!"

Tournament Settings

Settings
ALL games, regardless of map, will have these settings:

Standard Game Type
Automatic Initial Troops
Sequential Play Order
Nuclear Spoils
Chained Reinforcements

Special Gameplay
Fog of War ("Foggy", "Yes")
No Trench Warfare

There will be NO such rule that requires players to wait before taking their turns in Fog of War games.

30 Rounds Round Limit
24 Hour Round Length

Any settings that are made available by Conquer Club at any time during the existence of this post and throughout game-play (until the tournament is complete) will NOT be included in any games in the tournament, because these settings were not present during the writing of these Rules.
There will be NO such rule that requires players to wait before taking their turns in Fog of War games.

Basics of the Tournament

The above, three-paged game board is a self-created game board of 82 tiles (including Start and Finish), 38 maps, and 5 realms.

In playing, each of the 70 players is represented by a figurine (like in a traditional board game), which is "placed" on the first, Start tile (located in the top right of the board) at the beginning of the tournament.
  • Due to the number of players and size of the board, there will be only be one figure on the board, showing what tile the leader is on. Rather, all players' positions will be tracked in the third post.

Play is divided into rounds, hereon known as "rolls."

Players first play games, and then move.

Like in any standard board game, players move from tile to tile towards the last, Finish tile at the bottom of the board.

But rather than moving through luck of the dice, the number of wins a player earns during a "roll" will correspond to the number of tiles that player may move forward.

So, if Klaus wins 4 games in Roll 1, he would correspondingly move 4 tiles forward (having "rolled" a 4), thus landing on Monsters.

Players will play games on the map corresponding to where they are located on the board at the start of a roll.
So, if Gunther is located on the Monsters tile, he will play all his 1v1 games for the current Roll on the Monsters map.

If a player does not win any games in a Roll, then that player "rolls a 0" and is eliminated from the tournament!

The player to first land on Finish, or the last player remaining on the board, wins!

Game-play Format
All games in the tournament will be 1v1 games. Players in the same position (on the same tile) on the board will play games against each other, on the map corresponding to the tile that they are on, with the aforementioned universal settings.

In each roll (round), ALL players will play 6 1v1 games, regardless of how many players have landed on a particular tile.

  • Players will receive all 6 of their invites at one time in an effort to conserve time.

In cases where groupings are needed to divide players, the arrangement of players in the groupings will be determined randomly, using random.org.

At the start of the tournament, the 70 players are divided into 10 groupings of 7 players. Each player will play 1 1v1 game each against the six other players, on the Classic map.

-------
(For the remaining rolls)

If there are X players on a particular tile, where X is

  • 2: Those 2 players will play 6 1v1 games against each other.
  • 3: Each player will play 3 1v1 games each against the two other players.
  • 4: Each player will play 2 1v1 games each against the three other players.
  • 5: Each player will play 1 1v1 game each against the four other players, and an additional 1v1 game each against two different players, determined randomly.
  • 6: Each player will play 1 1v1 game each against the five other players, and an additional 1v1 game against another player, determined randomly.
  • 7: Each player will play 1 1v1 game each against the six other players.

  • 8: The 8 players will be divided into 2 groupings of 4 players each. Each player will then play 2 1v1 games each against the three other players in their grouping.
  • 9: The 9 players will be divided into 3 groupings of 3 players each. Each player will then play 3 1v1 games each against the two other players in their grouping.
  • 10: The 10 players will be divided into 2 groupings of 5 players each. Each player will play 1 1v1 game each against the four other players in their grouping, and an additional 1v1 game each against two different players in their grouping, determined randomly.

You can stop reading here! :o :o  I truly don't anticipate THIS many players on one particular tile, but, just in case, I might as well write it down,

  • 11: The 11 players will be divided into 2 irregular groupings, one of 5 players and one of 6 players. The grouping of 5 players will play in the same manner as indicated in aforementioned point (5). The grouping of 6 players will play in the same manner as indicated in aforementioned point (6).

This trend continues, breaking prime numbered-size amounts of players into irregularly sized groupings, and otherwise dividing larger factors of numbers into smaller groupings of sizes 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 where applicable. If you are interested in seeing the remaining explanations, I can provide them.

    ...
  • 70: The 70 players will be divided into 10 groupings of 7 players each. Each grouping plays in the same manner as indicated in aforementioned point (7).

Yeah, so it's all planned out.
Advancing on the Board
After playing games in a roll (round), players will advance a number of spaces equivalent to the number of games won.

Players who do not win any of their six games in a roll are immediately eliminated from play!

If a player lands on a tile and there is no other opponent that also landed on that tile, then the player may consider that tile to be a "free choice" space--the player will remain on that tile, but may choose to play with players on a different tile. That different tile must be in the same realm that the player is in. If the player wins games, the player then advances from their position on the board, NOT from where his opponents are located.

When players are alone on a tile or land on free choice tiles, I will personally message them to ask what map they want to play (in other words, what group of players they want to join and play with on another tile).

  • If there are no players on any tiles within the same realm, then the player may choose a tile that is in either the direct next or direct previous realm.

  • In the event that all remaining players in the tournament are each on their own individual tile such that no two players on the same exact tile, then all players will be placed into a grouping of players and play games on random maps, using the random setting.
How to Win
There are two ways to win the tournament.

To Win "A Risktaker's Race"

  • Be the first player to land ON the Finish space at the bottom of the board (having progressed through all five realms).

OR

  • Be the only player still in the tournament, as a result of all other players being eliminated.

In the event that multiple players landed on the Finish space at the end of the same roll (round),

  • Those players will take part in a Random map round-robin. Each of the tied players will play 1 1v1 game each against the other tied players, on random maps as determined through the Random setting, with the aforementioned universal settings.

  • The player with the most wins after this round-robin is proclaimed champion of A Risktaker's Race!
  • In the event that multiple players won the same number of games after the aforementioned round-robin, then those players who won the same number of games will take part in an additional round-robin. Each player will play 1 1v1 game each against the other players who have the same number of wins, on random maps as determined through the Random setting, with the aforementioned universal settings.
  • The player with the most wins after this round-robin is proclaimed champion of A Risktaker's Race!
  • Should multiple players once again have won the same number of games, then additional round-robins will take place in the same manner as mentioned in the previous points, until one single player is the only player with the most number of wins. That player will then be proclaimed champion of A Risktaker's Race!

In the above situations, regular board play for those players who have not yet arrived at the Finish space will end, and only the round-robins will be carried out to determine the winner.
Policy for Players Failing to Join Games
The organiser has full judgment in each case of a player not joining games.

Each player is guaranteed a minimum of three invites to each game. The organiser may choose to send additional invites to a player, at his discretion. The organiser shall begin sending messages to a player that has not yet joined a game after receiving two invites. If the player does not join his game after three invites (or, otherwise, after a number of invites as decided by the organiser):

  • The player in question is removed from the tournament, and any games that were to begin or did begin are considered unimportant and are disregarded for any tournament purposes.
The Ultimate Clarification: Example of Play
Roll 1

There are 70 players on the Start tile. As a result, they are divided randomly into 10 groupings of 7 players each.
Everyone now plays 6 1v1 games within their grouping (two games against each of the other 3 players in your grouping).

After all games are finished, you won all 6 games. So, you advance to Age of Realms 2: Magic!

Roll 2

You, James, Vanessa, Parker, Henry, and Sylvia all landed on Age of Realms 2: Magic!, because you all won 6 games in the first round. Since there are 6 players on this tile, according to the rules you now play a 1v1 game against James, a 1v1 game against Vanessa, a 1v1 game against Parker, a 1v1 game against Henry, and a 1v1 game against Sylvia. Then, as randomly determined, you'll play a 6th game, against Henry (randomly determined).

You win 2 of your 6 games! Therefore, you advance to Draknor--Level 1!

Vanessa won 0 of her games! Therefore she is eliminated!
GA Medal Awaiting Approval: "The Diablo Feat" :o
Upon Tournament Director approval, the player who "rolls the most 6s" (most frequently wins all 6 games during a round) throughout the entire tournament earns "The Diablo Feat" General Achievement Medal.

  • A player may only be awarded this medal if he has, at least three times, won all 6 games during a round.
That does it for the Rules, and thanks for checking out this tournament and I most certainly hope you'll join the race!

Have a great day, if you have any questions feel free to ask, I'm standing by,

James :)

FAQ Regarding the Tournament
What happens if all the remaining players are alone on a tile; where will they play?

I considered it such a rare event that I didn't include it in the Rules since it would just add MORE and more length to the already long Rules.

But, what will happen is if everyone is on their own tile, I will group all those players together and have them play games on random maps (using the Random setting). So, if there are 5 players left in the tournament and they are each on their own 5, different tiles, then those 5 players will be put in one grouping of 5 and play games on random maps using the Random setting.

Who chooses the map on a free of choice-tile?

On a free choice tile, I will be messaging you; you will be able to choose the map yourself. This allows you to choose to play on your favorite map in case you skipped over it.
To join, just make sure you're a premium member and post "I'm in."
