Welcome to the Choose Your Map: Experts' Showdown Tournament, where we'll see who knows their favorite map better than anyone else. Here's how it works:
Requirements:
Rank: No requirement
Pay: Premium not necessary, but you will need to leave TWO slots open.
Players must have a significant (positive) all-time score on their favorite map, determined at the organizer's discretion.
Gameplay:
Map: Your favorite map vs. someone else's favorite map
Players per game: 2
Settings: Choose your settings (no freestyle, no speed)
Tournament Style: Brackets, 4 rounds
Game Load: 2 games at time
Tournament:
Edit: players will be paired up with opponents of closest rank for each round, not randomly. This is to minimize massive point loss for higher ranked players.
Round of 16:
Players will be paired up by closest rank for the Round of 16. Players will play two games at a time: one game on their chosen map and settings, another on their opponent's map. Player with most victories after 4 total games advances.
Round of 8:
Players will be paired up by closest rank for the Round of 8. Players will play two games at a time: one game on their chosen map and settings, another on their opponent's map. Player with most victories after 6 total games advances.
Semi-Finals:
Players will be paired by closest rank up for the Semi-Finals. Players will play two games at a time: one game on their chosen map and settings, another on their opponent's map. Player with most victories after 8 total games advances.
Finals:
Two finalists will play two games at a time: one game on their chosen map and settings, another on their opponent's map. Player with most victories after 10 total games wins the tournament.
Tie-breakers:
In the (inevitable) event of a tie in any round, one game for each map will be added. This step will be repeated until tie is broken.
