**** UPDATED START TIME BELOW ****

Isn't she pretty?

1v1-----SINGLE GAME-----SINGLE KNOCKOUT-----BEST OF 3 FINAL

STEALTHY = FOGGY (duh!)

I am looking for 64 players for my first ever tourney, but will keep this open for at least two weeks and won't turn anyone away prior to looking for my take-off clearance.

Note: With an odd number of participants, some players will receive a bye to the second round. Seeding for this will be RANDOM.

Freemiums WELCOME - please keep a slot open and I will send them one at a time for the finals, if necessary.

UPDATED START TIME: Due to the timing of the festive season (got me by surprise this year on the 25th :-) ), I will be filing my flight plan on Dec. 20th. All entries prior to then will be accepted.

12 HOUR COURTESY RULE
It's fog and starting first provides you with a significant advantage so....

If you start the game first, you must choose one of the following:

A - Wait 12 hours to take your first turn (or until opponent has advised you that he has seen the map)
B- Take the turn immediately and then provide your opponent with the information that he can no longer see. It is NOT necessary to relay where you attacked to and from. Your opponent needs to know everything that could be seen prior to you taking your turn.

1st VIOLATION: I expect the NON-offending player to make every effort to obtain the information from your opponent through pm/game chat. If the violation does not get adequately resolved let me know and if it is demonstrated that an advantage was gained by the offending player then a new game will be issued. The NON-offending player should post in the game chat that he is making an appeal and continue playing the game (you are still playing the game for points). If you have taken your first TWO turns then you cannot appeal and the game will continue. This will give you plenty of time to try and work it out if you are prepared to play through the first turn.

2nd VIOLATION: Disqualification from the game

ERRORS AND OMISSIONS: If it is determined after the fog lifts that a player erred in relaying the necessary information AND this error results in an advantage being received by the offending player, the game will be forfeited.

NOTE: My intent isn't to be strict or to punish for honest mistakes but rather to ensure that no player receives any additional advantage when he starts the game and to ensure that players do not have any motive to stall the acceptance of their invites. Any grey area here and I will be ruling in favor of offering a remedy any time an advantage is gained.

Having said that, I will ensure that there is a reminder of this rule written in each game label so you can identify this directly from your games.
INVITES
With the 12 hour rule there shouldn't be problems here other than innocent mistakes so I'll only DQ here when I have given up on a player HOWEVER:

When you receive the 2nd and all subsequent invites for the same game, you must provide your opponent with ample time to obtain a snap or you can take your turn immediately and provide your opponent with the necessary information specified in the 12 Hour Rule above. This does not disadvantage or penalize you but it does guarantee that you won't receive an additional advantage to going first, as a result of you missing your first invite. NON-offending player must inform me before you have taken your second turn.

Sure, why not? Going into stealth mode now ...

You might want to post what map (random, right?) in the settings.

Thanks for this suggestion. I personally believe that it should be incumbent on T.O.'s to do that when they have this rule, given that it is something that players don't generally have to look for. It sucks every Tourney game you play, having to check the tourney thread to see if there is a rule or not. If there is a rule, you should be able to identify that right from you game. This will be done, thanks again.

Question from me to any T.O.......How do I accomplish this? Do I do this when the games are created or do I need to put it in brackets or something in my Tourney Name? I am receiving help from a Tournament Director as I go (thanks elonpuckhog), so I'm sure I will come across it.

As you create games there is a place that you can put in labels.

"Example: Round 1: 12 Hour Fog Rule in Effect" (or whatever you decide to word it)

In please, stealth.

Ice is correct - you'll probably want to put that in the "Game Label" box.
Feel free to PM me or any other TO any questions you may have.
