FIFA Bribe & Corruption Cup 2014
Rules of bribery & corrupcy
[spoiler]This is a doubles tournament featuring 5 specific maps and 1 map free of choice:
- Spanish Armada
- Baltic Crusades
- WWII Gallipoli
- Napoleonic Europe
- Kings Court II
The set-up of the tournament resembles a bit with the Champions League format, using some soccer influences and adding a small home team advantage to the games. To not waste anyones time reading too much, be aware of the following:
- No freemiums (games will be sent out in batches of 3)
- Each player must have finished at least 100 games on CC
- Sign up as a team (single entries will only be used in case they are needed to get the tourney going)
- Each team will play at least 12 or 18 games
Every team chooses two of the above maps. One of those two will be chosen the 'main map' for double scoring (see score explanation below). A third map can be choosen freely. Every team chooses one combination of settings to be used for all home games. You are free to choose your settings, but are not allowed to select frystyle or manual.
To give the scoring charts an official look, coose a nation you are representing. The only criterium for choice of nation is that it must be on Sepp Blatters Bribe List.
The tournament is good to go with 8 teams. If however sign-ups keep rolling in, I'm willing to expand the tournament to a max of 16 teams. This could influence the number of teams in each group in the Round Robin Phase (4 or 5), at least 2 will advance to the KOP.
Round Robin Phase & Scoring
The tournament will start with a Round Robin Phase (RRP) in which groups of 4 teams will play eachother in a home and away game. A single game consists of three games on the home teams maps. A win on the home teams main map counts for 2 points, a win on the other two maps counts for 1 point. The total score of one match will be the sum of this scoring, making a 2-2 draw a possibility. Any game which hits the Round Limit of 20 will count as a no score draw for the tournament.
(In case of groups of 5 teams, all teams will play 2 home and 2 away games)
Match scores will be put into a 'european soccer format', meaning a win will count for 3 points, a draw for 1 point and a loss for 0 points. The match score itself ('goal difference') will be the second decider over points in case of a qualification draw for the Knock Out Phase of the tournament. Would this be undecided too, the result of the teams involved against each other will be decisive. Still no decision? A single sunny escalating unlimited game on Baltic Crusades will do...
The Knock-out Phase
The first two teams of every group in the Round Robin Phase advance to the Knock Out Phase (KOP). In the first round of the KOP every group winner will play a runner-up from a different group. Actual size of the KOP will depend on the total number of teams and will be publicated before the tournament starts.
In the KOP teams play an home and away game against each other. If the total result is not decive both teams get an extra game on their main home map. Still undecided, the Baltic trick will force a decision on which team advances.
Some further details:
- Not accepting a game within 24 hours will result in a yellow card. The first two have no consequence, from the third on every yellow card will result in a 1 point deduction in the group table (RRP) or count as 1 goal/game win for the opposing team (KOP). Cards are counted per team, not per player. At 5 yellow cards, you will receive a red card, which ends your tournament.
- All games will have a Round Limit of 20 to ensure tournament progress.
- If for any reason a team abandons or gets kicked out in the Round Robin Phase, all games of this team will count as 'not played'.
- In any other case of dispute, my wisdom will decide.
- I've got a very short foe list, don't bother signing up if you are on it...
