This tournament groups players from the same countries / continents together at the start of the tournament.

When signing-up players will be allocated to groups according to their nationality (please state in your post or it will be assumed).

The tournament will start with four groups of 5 players:

    • One group of Invaders from the Eastern Hemisphere (Europe / Asia / Africa / Oceania)

    • One group from Central & South America

    • One group from Canada

    • One group from the United States

Tournament Format
Initial Stage

In Phase I, 4 groups of 5 competitors will undertake 2 terminator battles on:
    • The Eastern Hemisphere and Europe maps
    • The Central and South America maps
    • The Canada & Montreal maps
    • The USA and US Senate maps

In each battle, the winning competitor will score 2 points. All players will also score 1 point for each termination.

The top 2 competitors* from each group will progress to the next round. Third-placed competitors* will undertake a 1 v 1 tie-break play-off to determine who progresses (New World map).

Second Stage

In Phase II, 2 groups of 5 competitors will undertake 2 terminator battles on:
    • The Carribean Islands Map (Invaders and Central & South American qualifiers)
    • The North America Map (Canadian and United Statsian qualifiers)

Points scoring will be as above (points are reset to 0).

The top 2 competitors* from each group will progress to the next round. Third-placed competitors will undertake a 1 v 1 tie-break play-off to determine who progresses (New World map).

Final Stage

In the Final Phase, 5 competitors will undertake 4 terminator battles (North America, Central America, Caribean Islands and South America maps).

Points scoring will be as above (points are reset to 0).

The competitor with most points will be declared the Winner.

In the event of competitors finishing with equal points, a tie-break battle will be played (New World map).

* If necessary competitors will also be compared on the number of terminations, then number of rounds survived in the phase in question. If this does not prove to determine qualifying competitors then a tie-break battle will occur.
Settings
Settings will be terminator, sequential, automatic, escalating, chained, fog, no trench and a 20-round limit.
Competitor Requirements
There will be 16 competitors.

Competitors must have a 97% attendance record, have played a minimum 25 matches, and not have dropped out from one of my tournaments previously! Fremiums must have 2 slots open by the tournament start and aim to have 3 open for the final stage.

Competitors will have 24 hours to join their battles from when the joining invite is sent. Failure to do so will result in a reserve being sought (harsh, I know).
Reserves
All reserves will be sent a PM when an opening occurs. The first reserve to respond will gain a place.

For the first stage, reserves will be drawn from the reserve list.

In the second stage & final stage, reserves will be drawn from competitors eliminated from the previous stage (initially to the competitor finishing 4th in the group from which the missing player came (in the case of play-offs), or from the first losing play-off competitor to respond (in the case of a group stage), then from the first competitor finishing in 3rd or 4th place to respond, then from the first of any knocked-out competitor to respond).
Missing Turns
If a player misses a turn then he cannot score any points in the game in question. If a player deadbeats at any stage then he will be ejected from the tournament.

Players must contact the Tournament Organiser by PM to alert him to any indiscretions of the rule.
Partnerships / Regular opponents
Competitors must inform the tournament organiser if they have a regular partner or opponent that is also featuring in the tournament. The organizer can then ensure these competitors do not play together to avoid any potential claims of foul play by other players.

If reports of suspected foul play are made and the competitors in question have not declared that they are regular partners / opponents then they will be both be ejected from the tournament without question or the need for irrefutable evidence.
First Turn Fog of War Courtesy Rule
Where fog of war is present, the competitor who goes first in round 1 must either wait 10 hours before taking their turn, or inform their opponent(s) in game chat of any regions conquered during their first move, and who from. Failure to do either will mean the competitor in question is unable to score any points in the game.

Players must contact the Tournament Organiser by PM to alert him to any indiscretions of the rule.
Actually, I'll set up a group of invaders ... amended format details to follow .....

sorted, a bunch of do-gooder commies invading from the east - that may throw the gauntlet down :-)

 =D>

And, just to make it all square, those from the americas can invade the east in my next similar tournament:

Cool - but are you able to represent? Any familial connection, or having lived there etc?

Sorry, Europe is full, unless you have a strong Canadian or Latin America / Carribean connection?

I'll like to play. I do not have the 97% turn taken, tho, as I used to have accessibility issues in the past (circa 2010) and missed many times whole sets of games due to not being able to find connection on a weekend. That is long gone, tho, as I now have 24/7 connectivity.

I'm from Costa Rica (You may see me coming from US when I connect from work due to the corporate network). Can I play? :D
