She could do it too....I believe the press wanted them to fight as they are both undefeated...he lands a solid punch, she'd sure as hell know it....her martial arts training tho....lol. She's one tough chicky-poo

I believe martial arts are more important than height and weight. And the fact no one would expect to get punched by a girl. And we're not talking about fighting 30 men, but only few.

The beauty of martial arts is that it can allow the smaller person to win. When both people have equivalent training in martial arts, what does it come down to? Height and weight advantage. Rousey is able to dominate since she has Judo training above and beyond what any woman can hope to match. However, in any random sample of bar brawlers, there is bound to be 1 240+ lb person and at least 1 person with martial arts experience, either unarmed or with a weapon (many forget that target practice is a martial art too).
The main advantage of having Rousey is that you wouldn't get into a fight situation.

I'm thinkin' you ain't been in many scuffles, DY. I knew several fellers stood well under six foot, and in the 135-160 pound class, that had no problems in a good bar fight. Of course, you and I probably have different definitions of what a "bar brawl" is. And Koolio, you know how I feel about an Estwing framer; It's one of the finest close quarters combat weapons ever made.
34 seconds to knock that Brazilian Bitch the f*ck out.....hell yes Teach that piece of crap to make comments about her dead dad....her home country was rooting for Rhonda....lol. Just love that girl
Let me rephrase: does anyone have a link to the full video and will that person post the link to said full video in this thread immediately upon reading this?
But I can show you the video where a ref lets Rousey break a girls arm.
I was tapping out for the poor lady all through this video! YIKES! Anyway, because of incidents like this one; refs are now more apt to lean towards Rousey's way during a match. Rousey can now win a match just by talking to the ref and saying,"I got the arm locked, Ref!" or "She's tapping, Ref!" and the referee will stop the match erring on the side of caution.
Statistically, MMA is more safe than boxing or football; however, the sport still gets a negative wrap. Just lately (I think I made a topic on this a month or so ago) I observed CNN trying desperately trying to come up with a viable "reason" why Muslim males are shooting people or making bombs and blowing up finish lines at marathons. The hypothesis: MMA fighting.
Also, MMA was a big issue in my hometown. We used to host the premiere MMA fights in the state and were well known in the MMA community. Heck, Brock Lesnar came from a town only fifty miles from me. Then two drunk guys got into a bar fight and one guy died. That gave the city council the excuse they wanted to ban MMA from the city. So, now all that money that was being drawn into our small town went south to Sioux Falls; who already has almost all the money in South Dakota already.
The older generation weren't ready for MMA, I guess. Sad to see it leave. If it does get reinstated, it just won't be the same...probably won't even come back to our city for the bs this city council put that sport through.
