Formula One is a brilliant sport and the 2008 SEASON HAS STARTED so I want to hear what you have to say about it. I hope Lewis Hamilton wins and I hope Kimi and Alonso humiliate themselves }:>

Once upon a time I used to think it was interesting, but that was before I reached puberty.

You've reached puberty?

I wish Jenson could get a decent car.

I like Hamilton, I just wish he had a few 'rough' edges, he is just a little too slick for my taste. As much goes for his team McLaren, I like them, but they are a tad cold and scientific for me. Will there ever be another like the singular and peerless Schuey? who knows.

I am a Ferrarri man, always have been. They have the passion, the real racers spirit and the pedigree. Yes they screw up bigtime on ocassion, but there is not, and never will be, another like them.

Couple of interesting bits of news, one sad:

Former FIA President Jean-Marie Balestre has died at the age of 86. Those of us older members here will recall the bitter struggle in the 80s, the so-called ‘FISA-FOCA war’, in which the gnome Ecclestone ultimately prevailed...unfortunately.

On a more ironic note, I see Schuey is is among the management committee members for the FIA’s newly-formed Motor Sport Safety Development Fund, the body which will distribute $60 million from McLaren’s ‘spy scandal’ fine, for the benefit of motorsport worldwide....now that is ironic!

My predictions this year:

Hamilton to win the Drivers Champ.
Ferrarri to win the Constructors Champ.

i think the other way round, massa is a perfect 2nd driver, but kovalaienen and hamilton are both going for thw win, both want to win, dont think it will be as much of a mess as last year. massa will always l;et raikonnen through and assuming not to many mechanical errors raikonnen
i think will win. however constructors i see mclaren winning.

Formula 1 would be a whole lot more entertaining if they used those 'Charlton Heston" alloy wheels from Ben Hur's chariot.
And were allowed a whip to lash out at other geezers when going down a straight...

Health and Safety have made the sport soulless (and I still watch the shit!)

My fav is Massa, im a ferrari fan always have been and last year i was supporting kimi, but then when he won it haardly seemed like he cared hes not got enough emotion about him although i still much prefer him to hamilton. I hate the way the commentators act as if he is the only guy in the race when he wins they pretty much wet themselves with excitement. He's like the england football team of formula one.

Oh and i lied earlier my fav is actually the legend that is COULTARD!

I hope that Honda get a handle on what the hell is wrong with their cars.

Back to reality, I think Kimi wins again although it looks like Massa will be of no help. Watch for Heiki to beat Hamilton in points, but maybe I'm wishing. I also hope the BMW's match Ferrari and McLaren.

I dont see what the problem is really. Does this affect the way he does his job, whether you think he is good at his job is immaterial. As I see it all he has done is offend a group of people and every action that you or I make in our lives is liable to offend someone. Nobody got hurt(unless they wanted to be hurt), no miners were involved and nobody was there against their will. So give the guy a break.

He also seems pretty spry for a 67 year old.

On a side note, I have been watching F1 since I saw Alan Jones win at Caesars Palace carpark, and I had no idea that Max was Oswald Mosleys son. You learn something new everyday.

I think he is awful at his job, he is an arrogant shit, just like his father. He has run roughshod over some great ideas from the teams. Furthermore, by demanding a meeting of the FIA immediately (cost running into millions, plus of course the CO2 cost of all those flying in) is further evidence, if it was needed, of this arrogance.

I could not care or less what his sexual proclavities are, but it is fact of life, if you want to assume a public persona, lecture all and everyone on their conduct (as he does with monotonous regularity) then make sure your own house is in order. If not, take the private route as so many do.

It all makes great spectator sport notwithstanding. Nothing like seeing a shit like him get his come uppence...and let's face it, he has to be so very stupid putting himself in this position when so many have had it in for him for so long. Shows a disturbing lack of awareness really. That is the issue with so many if truth be told.

You have followed F1 since Alan Jones. I recall listening with horror, as a boy, to the radio comentary when Jim Clark was killed at Nuremburg. I still have pictures and magazines from those days stored away.

Well, that prediction from March turned out well FC. Once again you have proved yourself to be the master of prediction. I know you kept the faith with that all year as well.

My trigger finger did hover to click on the lay button on the exchanges a few times during the year Jim. But I kept the faith with Hamilton. It has to be one of the finishes to the Championship I have ever known.
