What are the odds of 1 player controlling a whole area lets say africa in the europe map at the start of the game, and also having 5 territories next to each other, in a 5 player standard game. anyone. thanks

yeah the same thing happened to me. a player in the middle earth map started off with all of the lindon area, therefor putting a huge advantage to him.

u got good spots in the game we played in like some china place whatever the heck it was and u ended up winning because of it

I've seen it happen b4 as well, and it has nearly happened to me.

in my case all it did was turn me into a target for everyone else and i ended up first one eliminated.

go figure

so while rare, and wicked cool (Not that wicked is cool in anyway) is a mixed blessing

1 in 34.5 sounds right, I once had most of Europe and I have a little over 30 games.

And Lindon is the small continent, right? I've seen one player start with 3 out of 4 countries there, too. And he deadbeated right from the start. Really, how stupid can you be?

The luckiest ive gotten was to hold the ankh-monkh in the discworld map. I dont think they should allow people to have all of one continent at the beggining of a game...
