I thought that playing some team games would be good, but after several deadbeats and my team mates attacking me for no gain I just don't understand. In my single game it comes down to deployment in 95% of games and who goes first, this is ok as I understand this is the type of game. Why would i bother just check out game 2914848, and there are so many like this. goodbye conquerclub it was fun but a total waste of my time. I'm considering taking a break for a while

Yes, why would your own team mates attack you in the first or second round for no gain what so ever. Maybe a cook I could overlook, sergeant first class and up - no way.

No idea why your quad-mate would attack you, that's nuts. The tendency of 1v1 games is that player who goes first wins... so don't play them.

this game is based on the bored game risk and that can have some terrible drops aswell anyway dont you think it would be boring if you didn't have a challenge sometimes,
anyway if your hating these puplic games you should go onto the tournaments where they have better players.
personally if it wasn't for the tournaments, i would of gotten bored already and exited the game by now

hey we all deal with stupid people I've played games and a teammate attacked me and made me weak and we lost the game. but hm i don't think i ever had anyone deadbeat on me. but anyway you keep playing with different people till you find a teammate you enjoy playing with and you start making more games with that person and then you don't have to worry about if they will deadbeat or not because you've played enough games with them to know they wont

i play team games to avoid the idiots. and i only play team games with people that are really my friends (as in, i know them in real life, and they got me suckered into this site), or with people i have met on here that are great team players (blitzaholic, big yuma ripper, etc...)... the key to team games is communication, period. you can win a huge percentage of your team games, if you just communicate and, well, act as a team. find someone you know from playing standard games, that you like, and you guys should learn how to play team games together. your win percentage will go up, and your enjoyment of the site will increase... good luck! don't quit!! just find a better partner!!-0

Thanks Owen, I have had time to cool off now. Your advice is very good and I will try to find good partners to play in team games. I have played some team games with good partners in the past so will PM them and join a communicating team to enjoy winning with.

Find one or two GOOD doubles partners, then just play lots of games with them. Its good fun, and you won't have to worry about getting bad teammates.

Is it even remotely possible that some people join a team game, without know that it is a team game? I'm talking about the player who never posts in the chat, and wanders around the board.
The cynic in me wants to assume players lame to put a ' dead ringer' into the opponents team, but I also have no doubt that there are people who don't even know they are in a team game. After all, if you don't click anything from the Game Type column of the game search, you get everything.
Perhaps team games should only pop up if specifically chosen?
I also wonder if it is on the to-do list to allow 'random teams' as an option (not mandatory, I explain, at the sound of an army of people who want to be able to choose their partners.) Personally, not having found many good team mates, I would be glad to see such an option for the team games.

i have been in games where people don't realize it is a team game, until it is expressed to them in chat or a pm... and as far as random teams go. no thanks. i play with my real life friends, and a few people i have met and enjoy playing with on the site. it is all about communication OR knowing what is going on with the map/turns/objectives. i am not interested in playing with someone that i do not know, risking them not wanting to do what is best for the team, or understanding what should be done for the team. most of my turns i talk with my partners on skype... not to discuss what is going on, but to just shoot the crap in the middle of the work day and to catch up. sure they'll be a "are you really going to deploy there?" or two, but most of my interaction in team games is personal and not game related. however, when it comes down to it,if i need an opinion or someone has an idea, communication is very important. i play on about 4 regular teams from dubs, to trips, to quads... it took us a long time to get good and competitive, and i'm not willing to randomly get screwed in a game by some player i don't know. perhaps you should do what my best friend did.. he made me join the site, taught me how to play dubs, and we have never looked back. he couldn't find a good partner, so he found a friend he could hoodwink into joining the site...-0
p.s.-i'm always open to playing with new people, just people i select or people that ask me. not some random person in a game that i have never interacted with...

Re: Owenshooter - I acknowledged your viewpoint re: random partners, in my initial post, I still think it is worthwhile having variable not everyone likes. Much the way some people like certain maps, and some people like escalating cards, or hate fog-of-war, it is variety that is the spice of life, and so it is here.
If it is optional, I see no reason why anyone would argue against having it, as a choice.
But someone will... sigh.
I still think my idea of making the default game-type not include team games is a good one, even more so after your response, confirming my suspicions.

i have no idea what the first part means... can you clarify? and suspicions? come on. it is obvious that people play with others that they know and like in team games. and that the more games you play together, the better you get as a team. find yourself a partner, learn together, and enjoy becoming a better team.-0

I have learned a ton about CC, from my trips games with Owen and Blitz. I don't know if Blitz is my next door neighbor or some person in Mozambique. But Blitz communicates very clearly, and we manage to win most of the time. I have another dubs partner, who PM'ed me from a game Owen and I had beat his team in. We have played a few games now, and have found a few things we have in common outside of CC> In other words, it is a good tool to make some friends as well.

The suspicions that were confirmed is that some players get into team games without knowing it. Next time, read the posts you are referring to, your defensive posture seems to imply that you're having trouble getting the blood off your hands, Lady Macbeth.

I really don't understand the hostility to a suggested 'option'. I in no way suggested that teams should be broken up, only that some people, like myself, might like to mix things up a bit. Why does that seem to threaten some people?
