the amount of times people get annoyed because i wait for 4 minutes and 40 seconds in freestyle speed is incredible
i see nothing wrong with doing it but i receive lots of bad ratings (not that i care about ratings though) and get flamed for it
what do you think about this...

I'm a quick mover often myself tho, but waiting is a part of freestyle

Tell the people who leave the bad ratings to 'suck it up' this is war, in war you do shit to people they don't like, and then kill them, its the nature of the beast.

waiting until the last second is just a part of freestyle, but what pisses me off in freestyle speed games is when 3 of the players play their turns in the first 30 seconds, and then the 4th still waits until the last 5 seconds to take his turn.. that to me, is assinine

2008-08-24 14:16:11 - Jeff Hardy: you abuse freestyle

perhaps you can explain what "abuse in freestyle" means? ^^

The "problem" with casual freestyle is that you need to literally sit 24 hours a day next to your computer. Even people with lots of free time have to sleep. So personally I dislike this option.

However, for speed games it is an interesting option, as long as you have high connection speed.

ugh... when I first started here, I tried a few freestyle games. They involved a lot of running home at lunch attempting to take a turn at just the right time. I decided quickly that I'd have no more of that. Though now that I'm at college, I tend to have my laptop with me fairly often... nah. Not worth it. Sequential ftw!

I did the casual freestyle thing earlier, and I was quite good at it too. Even as active as I was then, though, it was just too much to keep up. I'd find myself worrying that I might miss a super important opportunity every time I didn't sit at my computer looking at the games. It was very tiring. Lots of points potential for a good freestyler, but not worth it.

Why do you post pointless polls?! You are going to wait as anyone that hopes to win in Freestyle will.

It's a valid strategy... in freestyle. Freestyle has a lot of problems, and there are a lot of different ways to get ahead that can be considered "cheap," and you hear various people complain about them all the time. But those ways are how you win at freestyle; it's not a skill competition, it's a douchebag-off. Whoever has the most free time to take advantage of the best cheap-shots, wins.

You have 5 min to take your turn. So why not use the full 5 min to use the turn? It just so happens that attacking in the last seconds is the best tactic. Since then your opponent wont have a chance to break the bonus you probably take.

freestyle speed games are cheap to begin with but waiting to the last second if fair its just part of it

Depends, I think it's fine to wait for minutes, but in a 24-hour game you're suddenly left hanging without notice. It isn't really really cheap since it's in the nature of the game (so I won't vote) and it's fair to take your advantages esepcially when you most need them, but testing a player's patience goes beyond hoping to surprise them with your timing, and I would describe anything more than 5 minutes unannounced deliberate delay, if you've been playing rt, as an acceptable tactic but rude.

its cheap when you agree to play rt in a "casual game" then leave or wait for ages but its ok to do it in speed games because your opponent only has to wait a max. or 5 minutes

Like i said earlier, its is war. You use everything you can to win, even if it mean waiting to take your turn, cause it will frustrate the other players, then they aren't thinking straight when they there turn, do something stupid and hey presto, the game is yours.. completely valid strategy.
