DON'T BE INTENTIONALLY ANNOYING
Yet, threads pop up everywhere, and the Announcement that was supposed to be joyous is now 11 pages of complaining.

ATTENTION CONQUER CLUB!
An extremely subtle and, some would say, clever thread title has been recently made, and Stephen Wayne has caught the joke. Impressive, but then again, such sheer genius can only be found on cc.
Standing ovation?

It's not even a joke. This is supposed to be an online forum in support of a web-based broswer game; and everytime I log on to her, I see fifty thousand threads of retards that can't get over the fact that this is just a game and play it. Instead, it's "Omg these n00b farmers are number 1" or "omg there's personal information here and there, but ignore the personal information in my sig", or "wicked's back and destroying live chat".
GROW THE f*ck UP.

QFT.
Oh wait, official forum rules say that it is not allowed to say solely that......
Good job?

I love complainers who complain about other people complaining. I've always been a fan of irony.

A small thought.
If everyone on this forum who, bitched and complained all the time put that energy into posting constructivly this site could be a much, much better place than it already is.
Over in the foundry all our regulars voice there complaints in a constructive manner that people are actually willing to listen to and take in. We get things done in the foundry because the community works with the mod team, not against it.
Unfortunatly this way of working isn't enjoyed by the rest of the CC community. Many, many people give me the impression that is they shout loud enought and for long enough (wether for or against CC) they will get their own way, that line of thought is wrong.
Here is a small lesson on how to communicate an issue you have in a way you would be more likely to get a civil, grown up response:
1.
Annouce what your issue is,the friendlier you are, the more likely you are to be listened to.
2.
Inform why you believe this is an issue.
2.
Suggest what you believe is an appropriate response to address your issue.
you also need to remeber that people may not share your opinions, but you should always respect what others have to say (If they say it in a respectable manner).
If we all followed my above advice and you suddenly see that CC isn't as bad a place when you don't moan and complain then expect other people to solve the issues you have.
Also something my mum used to teach me, 'If you want to be treated like an adult you need to act like one.'
p.s. I have a feeling that alot of what I have just said went off on a slight tangent, but it is all stil relevent to the title of the thread

I agree. Please see all the threads, where I made valid, polite complaints and was told to "STFU" by Twill, and "shut up" by Night Strike.
Decency is not a two way street here, and that is a major part of the problem. Criticism of the mods, no matter how positive, is never treated with respect by the mods. I used to complain about Wicked non stop, due to her "erratic behavior" and was called a complainer, whiner and a few other things by Twill himself while he was defending her. He even posted a thread in her defense in our clan forum. 2 months later, she is gone, admitted to "erratic behavior" and then exploded in a vengeful rage against CC. So basically, maybe you should have listened to me then.
Finally I am 38 yrs old. I am married. I am fully employed, own a house and make decent money. CC does not rule my life. I do enjoy it though, that is why I paid my $25 twice (once a year). It is funny, that I am probably more mature and have a more stable life than most of the mods that consider me to be an immature complainer.
I pushed REPEATEDLY for more forum rules. The main problem is they are still written so that the mods can do whatever they want. Look at how rules are written elsewhere, without room for interpretation. Granted, the mods power would then be restricted to ACTUAL offense policing, but then the users wouldn't feel so unfairly treated as well.
I know all this is in vain, since I have now read the community managers blog on modding. In it he states, (not an exact quote, but a synopsis since an exact quote MIGHT break personal info rules) don't quote what rule they broke when warning the user. Also be creative and funny when banning, such as "didn't your mom hug you enough" and then lock the thread. Professionalism at its finest.

Many times, when reading/thinking about the goings-on here at CC, a common saying pops into my head. That saying is, "You get what you pay for." I believe this holds true in many ways here. For one, the mods here are all unpaid volunteers, so to expect professional behaviour from them all, at all times, is unreasonable. Perhaps if they were paid for their services, they could be expected to act more consistently, and professionally. For two (and I believe this is a big factor in #1), $25/year is pretty damn cheap. I, for one, don't expect my $25 a year to be able to provide full-time, dedicated mods, who have been trained properly, and are able to act competently at all times. I can accept that the best I can expect (on the forum side of the site) for my money, is a bunch of people who may have good intentions (paving roads, etc.), but don't necessarily have training and/or experience in customer service in an online setting.
[/my 2 cents]

I can't say that I can argue with NS's
response.
For someone who touts being mature, you sure push your views in petty and pathetic ways. The BpB is likely "right" in your arguments with the mods. But the way you are all going about it makes me wish they'd ban most of you from the forums for good.

but what point do you become a constant complainer about complaining.
Kotaro I find your posts more intentionally annoying than most.

nagerous, what's the point in contributing to this forum anymore?
My first year here, I avoided Live Chat and these forums. And, with my 2nd year anniversary coming on, I know why. It's just so filled with complaining. And look at how much it is! The crap on the front page alone is enough to turn off any forum go'er above the age of 10.
"The mods don't improve the site here, blah blah bitch some more"
"You should warn me before you take action that was basicly demanded by a user from our own group"
"I want to start everyone panicing so I'm going to post some websites that look similar to oneanother"
"A stupid thread by max which, naturally, turns into flaming"
I'm nearly in shock that there's not also a "dice are unfair" thread on the first page. Why should I post to improve the site? If the mods don't want to enforce their own rule on anyone except the people who mention it, and than use it only on them and no one else, than what's the point?
