Sound effects?

I am very new to this wonderful thing called Conquer Club. I am also very impressed with the level of thoroughness of the whole site. My previous experience of 'Risk' on the internet is limited to the relatively simple 'Attack' game on the Facebook site. But it did serve a purpose in that it rekindled my interest in the game which I played many years ago.
But in spite of the fantastic depth which Conquer Club offers - and really there is no real comparison; there is something the
Facebook version does better! It has simple but very effective
sound effects of explosions when attacks are made.
I wonder if one's gaming experience on Conquer Club would be further enhanced by adding an equivalent? -An optional extra 'add-on' with some Greasemonkey code perhaps so that those who prefer silence won't require ear plugs!?
-Given the level of input you get from so many people here on this site, I've little doubt that some clever code writer could create different types of sound effects for different events.

The reason I like conquerclub is because it lacks random flash animations and sounds.
And also, I do not want to hear a sound effect when I conquer a territory every second.

great idea, i love it, as long as it couyld be easily muted. And there could be differant ones for bombarding and attacking etc.
very good idea

Yes, lozzini, that is exactly what I had in mind!

My thanks to The Neon Peon for his critique.
I fully understand that this idea would not be good if members had no choice about it. Of course 'BOB' and the 'Dice Analyzer' - which I've recently discovered - may not suit everyone either. What is great about these 'plug-ins' is that people can choose to make use of them or not, in spite of the fact that doing so may have some negative aspects (for instance; slowing things down a bit).
So what I am hoping for is that someone might consider building 'Sound effects' as a user-script for Greasemonkey, therefore not affecting those who'd prefer to do without such non-essentials.
Further feedback is welcomed. Thankyou.

i think it would be overly annoying. i just rolled through 7 of my 18 games, and sound effects would have been annoying. i play upwards of 50 at times, and other members play many more games at one time than i ever will. i just think it would be overly juvenile and amateurish. would we need seperate sounds for different maps, like pearl harbor and all the WW2 maps? i just think it would be a wasted effort. the only sound i ever had playing board games was the roll of the dice and the subsequent response from myself and my brothers/friends or whomever. i don't really think it's a worthwhile idea, and would probably be more of an annoyance than anything else. the black jesus has spoken...-0

Zeros, this is off topic of your post but are you adding that picture in every post? Why not just put it in your signature box?

i think this is a fine idea, i agree that sound effects would be cool, hasbros computer version of risk has sound fx, just make sure ours would be different. and a simple on/off box for sound would satisfy everyone.

I like this idea, but it should be turned off by default. Imagine using this with clickable maps...

Owenshooter: What I am proposing is that it be written as a Greasemonkey script.
Just like 'BOB' etc., people could have the choice. That's what's so great about Conquer Club! -Choice! Look at how many different maps we can choose. Look at how versatile the play options are. These are great choices that go to help make this site such a rich place with passionate people like yourself taking a real interest.

What I am suggesting is just another choice for those who might want it. I am not suggesting it be forced upon you!

Maybe this should be moved to Suggs & Bugs ?
I love the idea anyhow, and was wondering the same thing a while ago

I think this is more likely to be an official improvement than an add-on if it is implemented.
