Isaac Newton died almost 300 years ago. Do you realize that it would be almost impossible for Paris Hilton to have known Isaac Newton?Army of GOD wrote:Did you know that Isaac Newton collaborated with Paris Hilton in a joint effort to disprove pi?
What are you talking about? Newton's parents (Jesus and Cleopatra) are both only like 50 years old now which makes Netwon like 25...demonfork wrote:Isaac Newton died almost 300 years ago. Don't you mean 35?Army of GOD wrote:What are you talking about? Although 'Sus was a loose cannon Cleopatra wanted to wait until marriage which came when she was 25. Or so the history books say...MeDeFe wrote:Don't you mean 35?Army of GOD wrote:What are you talking about? Lol, yeah. It's circumference over diameter. Everyone knows that.Hologram wrote:Ah, pi: the rational number everyone seems to think is irrational.
Diameter you fool. Oh, and find me a circle where the diameter and circumference are both integers. Then I'll believe that pi is rational.john9blue wrote:Lol, yeah. It's circumference over radius. Everyone knows that.Hologram wrote:Ah, pi: the rational number everyone seems to think is irrational.
You can't divide two integers together to get pi.bedub1 wrote:what number do I divide by another number to get pi? everybody is like "22 over 7" and you do the math and it doesn't equal pi.....
It can only be approximated, that is why it is called an "irrational number".bedub1 wrote:what number do I divide by another number to get pi? everybody is like "22 over 7" and you do the math and it doesn't equal pi.....
When the quantum computer becomes commonplace pi will be calculated past 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 decimal places.PLAYER57832 wrote:It can only be approximated, that is why it is called an "irrational number".bedub1 wrote:what number do I divide by another number to get pi? everybody is like "22 over 7" and you do the math and it doesn't equal pi.....
however, true circles are completely irrational, too... so it has company
So you're basing the fact that pi is only theoretically (by which I mean based on what we know about it) irrational because a nonexistent computer will be able to solve pi's mystery?demonfork wrote:When the quantum computer becomes commonplace pi will be calculated past 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 decimal places.PLAYER57832 wrote:It can only be approximated, that is why it is called an "irrational number".bedub1 wrote:what number do I divide by another number to get pi? everybody is like "22 over 7" and you do the math and it doesn't equal pi.....

Once this happens the true nature of pi will be unlocked and with that will come the knowledge and technology that will allow mankind to bridge the gap between space/time and eternity.
Pi is considered to be irrational because current knowledge/understanding/technology would not permit otherwise.
