Master of simile?

Yes... witnesseth -

How you ain't gon' F*CK! B$tch I'm me?
I'm the g0d d@man reason you in VIP
CEO you don't have to see ID
I'm young, wild, and strapped like Chi-Ali
Blaow! We ain't got nothing to worry about
Whoop @ss, let security carry em out
Watch out for the medallion my diamonds are wreckless
Feels like a midget is hanging from my necklace
I pulled up wit a million trucks
Looking, smelling, feeling like a million bucks
Pass the bottles, the heat is on
We in the huddle all smoking that Cheech and Chong
What's wrong? The club and monn is full
And I'm lookin for a thick young lady to pull
One sure shot way to get em outta them pants
Take note to the brand new dance, like this...

I'm bored and I like Ludacris

'Round these here parts we call someone like that hood rich. Got tons of loot, and wastes it all on stupid shit like diamond chains and rims.

You wanna see someone floss? Look at a country star like George Strait or Alan Jackson. I'm not a fan of their music, but those dudes know what real money is like. And they don't have to reinforce it to their fans in all the lyrics to their songs, they all know they are ballers.

This is not meant as a racist post. I'm simply drawing attention to the difference between being smart with money, and being stupid with it.

What? This has nothing to do with my thread!

I'm simply pointing out that, as far as lyricists go, Ludacris is among the best (and, along with the WuTang Clan my favorite).

I think the lyrics are funny. I just think it's sad that the general populous actually thinks that they are the types of folks to idolize and imitate because of how glamorous their lives are.

I like Wu-Tang, especially Redman. I'm a big fan of the old Snoop, Dre, and Biggie stuff too.

The lyrics are awesome, AWESOME! Not funny... awesome!

I'm trying to NOT politicize or societalize (not a word) this thread. For once, I'd like to discuss a topic (in this case rap music, specifically the lyrics of Ludacris) without making it an argument about US society.

Ludacris doesn't get enough credit. His CDs are great and he puts on a good live show. I love his latest:"Theater of the Mind".

Meh, for Ludacris. Jay-Z is probably one of my favorites, and you'll be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't like Wu Tang. K'naan is where it's at (about half the time). He can be hit or miss, but when he hits it, he knocks it out of the park imo.

Ludacris is great as a lyricist. And I wouldn't take his lyrics too much at face value 72o- check out the video to Stand Up:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zd_8m241vYg

The guy has a sense of humour about the lifestyle. That's one of the things that makes him good.

Alright, no political anything out of me in this thread anymore.

awesome Notorious lyrics:

There's gonna be a lot of slow singin',
And flower bringin', if my burglar alarm starts ringin'.
What you think all the guns is for?
All purpose war, got the rottweilers by the door
And I feed em gunpowder, so they can devour
The criminals, tryin to drop my decimals.
Damn, n*ggaz wanna stick me for my cream
And it ain't a dream, things ain't always what they seem.
It's the ones that smoke blunts wit ya, see ya picture
Now they wanna grab they guns and come and git ya.
Bet ya Biggie won't slip.
I got the calico with the Black Talons loaded in the clip,
So I can rip through the ligaments,
Put the f*ckers in a bad predicament,
Where all the foul n*ggaz went.
Touch my chedda, feel my Beretta buck,
What I'm a hit you wit you mother f*ckers better duck.
I bring pain, blood stains, and what remains,
Of his jacket. He had a gun he shoulda packed it,
Cocked it, extra clips in my pocket,
So I can reload and explode on your azzhole.
I f*ck around and get hardcore,
C4 to ya door, no beef no more, n*gga.
Feel the rough, scandalous,
The more weed smoke I puff,
The more dangerous.
I don't give a f*ck about you or your weak crew,
What ya gonna do when Big Poppa comes for you?
I'm not runnin', n*gga I bust my gun in,
Hold on, I hear somebody comin'.

A sampling of other good Ludacris similes and metaphors:

"I got people scared as F$CK like when condoms break or how your heart deals with eatin' eighty pounds of steak." - Cry Babies
"You frostin' like a flake and Ludacris feels grreat!" - Cry Babies
"You run with ****** that's more chicken than pot pies" - Cry Babies
"I got a Wheel of Fortune 'cause I flipped Os like Vana White" - Cry Babies
"I kick ****** in they ass reboot 'em like laptops" - Cry Babies
"Now they all lost for words like I beat em in Scrabble" - Cry Babies
"Catch me in Vegas spinnin the green, I re-up with more chips than a vending machine" - Cry Babies

"I shoot videos and get knobs slobbed in trailers, then hit stage and break a leg like Lawrence Taylor" - Word of Mouf

"I got permission to put your momma in a headlock. She tried to trick me with a figure four leg lock" - Block Lockdown (not a simile or metaphor, but brilliant nonetheless.

these lyrics are pretty dope

Hahahahahaha
My adversaries crumble when we rumble it's a catastrophe
Out for revenge on bitch niggaz that blasted me
Plus my alias is Makaveli
A loaded three-fifty-seven with hollow points to a nigga belly
Bust him to see if he bleed, he shoulda never fucked around
with a sick-ass nigga like me
They call my name out and niggaz run,
Best be prepared for the Outlawz, here we come

Good Biggie stuff (from a freestyle):

I got seven Mac-11s
About eight 38s
Nine nines
Ten mac-tens, the sh!ts never ends

You can't touch my riches
Even if you had Mc Hammer and the 357 bitches

Biggie Small, the millionaire, the mansion, the yacht
The cool weed spot, the two hot glocks
That's how I got the weed spot
I shot dred in the head, took the bread and the lamb spread

If that is not a racist post then why use the 'N' word. Even if you * it out it's still scummy.

Yeah, it's way more polite to say "hood rich". Because the phenomenon is certainly not limited to black people.

And hey, 72o, I'm pretty sure the Roots had you in mind when they made this video:

LOL. I gotta start reading this guy's posts more often.

Redman is from Newark, NJ though, which is cool.

I thought he was...obviously I'm wrong. I guess I thought he was part of Wu-Tang because he collaborated with Method Man so often. Admittedly, I was into that about 12 years ago, so now any latent knowledge about the music genre is probably cloudy. Nevertheless, Redman's Muddy Waters album was awesome.

And I apologize for the offensive racist slur I used earlier in this thread. I edited it out. I meant no harm to anyone, but it was out of line and unnecessary.
