Re: men, women, social historians a question:

Certainly there are many different kinds of feminism, and all sects must be careful not to fall into matriarchy (which implies inequality). But no type is by necessity matriarchal, even the radical feminism brilliantly elucidated by Saxi (which involves the rejection of the state because it is too ...

Thanks, Angola. It's good to be back after a much-needed break; can't wait to get back into the competitive clan world.

Re: HALLOWEEN

Don't usually dress up for Halloween, but thinking of going this year as a breast cancer-aware football player, with my friends being other athletes.

That means pink gloves, cap, sweatbands, knee brace, etc... which can be pragmatically reused whenever I play flag football or whatever.

And it's ...

Re: OT is the Coolest, GD isn't.

Gotta be #2 or #3; there might be some things cooler than OT, so I'm not sure it's #1, and I have no idea how highly GD is thought of, so I can't exactly say it's "overrated" (#4 is out). I like #2 the best - clearly, GD isn't the coolest. There's no disputing that.

But I will say that when I want ...

Re: Latest crazy map from the foundry

I went and re-read the caption on the map and I'll admit the wording is a little heavy handed. You could probably just tweak it a little and everyone would be happy as it does read as slightly "charged" as it stands.
I agree with this, but I don't think anyone cares about it enough to actually go ...

What about users who were wrongly convicted of cheating? This would hurt them a lot more than the premium strip.

Re: Who is the Best US President: Wilson, FDR or Obama?

As per the OP: FDR for his leadership and major foreign policy decisions - even if his economic policies did exacerbate the depression (I'm on the fence about that).

Don't know too much about Eisenhower, but I agree Suez was a rare shining moment in US foreign policy.
Sure, it was a little ...

Just took my first turn in a triples game and took some time to study the bonus system.

Looks like it's got some very appealing small bonuses that can be acquired even in larger team games. Nice work. :)

Good question. I'm sure the majority of voters know their individual vote won't count for shit when all is said and done, but we've all got our own reasons as to why we go through with it nonetheless.

I voted Obama last time, but after read through the Green Party platform, I doubt I'll be doing so again.

In general, it reflects my views much better than the Dems, who I think are probably too close to the center for me.

Britons were my civ, too. Max range of 12 was just too good to pass up, especially against the computer.
Against human players, I usually went with someone fast in the early stages, or maybe cheap skirmishers/spearmen.

Favorite campaigns were William Wallace/Barbarossa and Aztecs/Huns.
