Re: Non-Conformist Philosophies

Well now that we got that straightened out, I suppose I should state my philosophy. BTW, good to be back. I do hate it when real life interferes with CC. Anyways:

1. No god. I understand why people believe in some sort of higher power (fear of death, explanation of existence, hope), but see no ...

Re: Non-Conformist Philosophies

My understanding of Objectivism is based on the Rand novels I've read as well as some online articles. I can't be exactly like Rand because she said Objectivism was an atheist philosophy, but I don't hesitate to use it as a foundation of ideas, so to speak. The only thing that Objectivism has to ...

Re: Wash. State to Consider Nullification of Federal Gun Laws

A couple of things-
1. This entire discussion should be over. Good luck trying to enforce a law that takes away Americans rights to bear arms.
2. If you took away guns from everyone, then the only people that would be armed would be criminals. I imagine that of those 15,000 or so murders in the U ...

2. Why must everyone else in this thread insist on feeding the trolls? :-s

Re: Everything BUT marriage

So you will have Tom wanting to marry his sister, Joe wanting to marry his niece, and you know there is some freak out there who will want to marry his dog! And thus, the domino effect.

This doesn't even make basic sense. Stopping reproduction among close relatives has legal justification due ...

Re: Everything BUT marriage

Washington legislature passed an "everything but marriage" law for gay's. It was put up to a vote yesterday, and passed. Which I agree with. The conservative groups lobbied against it saying "it's just a stepping stone to them wanting marriage" whereas the liberal groups said "all we want is equal ...

Of course, because world domination is ...

Hell yes! I skipped school and bought a new HDMI cord just so that I could play it in 1080i! I've had it preordered for months, and I was waiting outside Gamestop for them to open so that i could get it.

Do y'all know if it can be played with 2 players simultaneously?
No, It's a 1 player game ...

Re: Rock Band/Guitar Hero

Telling somebody that plays Guitar Hero to play a real guitar is like telling someone that plays Halo to join the marines. It completely misses the point of video games.

Not really. It is impossible to experience something like Halo in real life, and impractical to emulate other, more realistic ...

Demanding something (health care coverage) that you can not afford is BEYOND greedy. being able to afford something you need thru hard work and intelligence is not greedy, its responsible and being able to take care of yourself.

how bad does that statement piss you off?

The quest for profits - oooooohhhh! Makes it sound like an evil crusade full of monsters. I guess we need more businesses to go under so our glorious leader can assume command of them and lead us into everlasting utopia. One thing's for sure, we can't ever accuse the government of being greedy ...

Depending on your perspective, the Oath Keepers are either strident defenders of liberty or dangerous peddlers of paranoia.

Most definitely the latter.

Re: White House urges Media to unite against Fox

You guys are arguing about whether or not Fox is biased or not, yet none of you seem to give a shit about that fact that the federal government is attempting to shut down/discredit a news agency. I am pretty certain that that violates the first amendment, and is way overstepping the federal ...
