No, it's taken from Centrepoint - follow the river to the southeast and you can actually see the Shard (from a few months ago at least).

I'd suggest a card/spoils explanation as well - they seem to crop up a lot.

It means you can attack Malta, but they are unable to attack you. It's a fairly common feature of "more complicated" maps. Bear in mind that reinforcements are affected by the one-way aspect too.

Another trick is to click *Start a Game* from the left hand Game menu, then *browse maps* and as you click on on each map, you can view the instructions for each in turn. a) No - you've not missed your turn, simply not completed it. (This is the one I'm not 100% on)

b) & c) The board stays as you left it when you ran out of time ie. it doesn't "reset" for the start of the next players turn.

I'd agree with the Titus comment. Read the whole trilogy, and have no idea of the general plot (although the BBC did a good adaptation, I think just the first book, about 10-15 years ago), but have a wonderful image of the lands and characters.
