Re: Question about dice...

They are usually wrong, yes, but when they say that the dice are not random, they are right.

Also, when someone is wrong, there is always a cause to point that out.

When I make this point, I do so with fervor and conviction, as I find you and them emphatically incorrect.

I know these things ...

Klobber, quit employing circular reasoning to aggravate the statisticians. Your explanation isn't even valid. Of course there are odds when rolling dice. I believe they made a few games based around this fact...

All about winning?

Do you guys play CC to win? Or do you glean enjoyment from means other than sweeping the board?

Don't get me wrong, tipping your opponents over like dominoes is an excellent pastime, but you can't always be the big dog in a given situation.

For me, especially with the disjointed order of turns and ...

He means that the patterns that manifest previously have no effect on what patterns may manifest subsequently.

For example, if I happen to roll a six, 10 times in a row, that neither means that the next roll will be a six, nor that it will not be a six. It could just as easily be either a six or ...

Re: Question about dice...

Why are people against auto attack so much? Previous rolls have no bearing on subsequent rolls, so even if it went from 52-12 to 10-5, you'd still keep attacking, because the odds are still on your side. Unless the dice really are streaky...

Sure previous rolls have a bearing. Eventually you'll ...

Re: Zone Denial

That makes sense. Context is key.

I'm just having trouble reacting to situations as specific as yours. My knee-jerk reaction is "Oh crumbs, that guy has a zone, only I can have zones!" And then I do whatever it takes to impede him while preserving my little sphere of influence.
Definitely not a ...

Re: How much of this game is luck?

Luck only exists when people are shooting at one another.

This is a dice game with cards. It's all probabilities, kids. No sense getting upset over the probabilities, just learn them. Then play them. Then figure out how to read what other players have based on how they're playing and their ...

If people spent all of their time creating sliding scales for services, modern society would be mired in a sea of needless bureaucracy...or at least more so than it already is.
No, because an optimum level would/will/has been reached. There are many scaled payment options around for all sorts of ...

Re: I think I'll stay just free user for a while, and why.

Most of you chums don't seem to realize that memberships are about access to a faculty, not an obligation to make the most of them.

You pay for your internet, television with movie channels, car insurance, etc, and you'd be hard pressed to make full use of all of them in a given month. Why is CC ...

How much of this game is influenced by chance?

How much of this game would you say is up to chance, compared to skill?

Plenty of both are involved, from what I've seen. I never played that much Risk growing up, and am by no means a master strategist, but I think I can pick up on systems well enough. Skill is merely resource management and ...

Zone Denial

I was just thinking about zone denial. When you break an opponent's zone, do you generally leave the bulk of your troops in their zone's region or in your own?

I've noticed that when you make their former territory a choke point, it tends to provoke retaliation into your zone if they break through ...

Re: THE GUIDE TO ESCALATING!!!!!

I don't really care for escalating. I'm fairly new here, but it seems that all of the gains in the early game are moot thanks to exponential card bonuses.

Maybe there's some aspect of timing the cashing in that I'm not privy to yet, but it seems too chaotic. With flat rate, I know (relatively) the ...
