Re: What makes an honorable conqueror?

We can agree to disagree on the thrown game idea; there were way too many high ranked players in those games that had a great competive persona and all players did was want to win. Anyway, I do agree that the scoreboard is a lot lower than the earlier days and this is because the margin of winning ...

Re: Rise of Minimum wage?

"Small businesses can't afford to pay another 2 or 3 dollars an hour without folding"? Niggapleeze! That's the standard feedline administered by the big corporations to the (usually right wing) lackeys who suck it up and parrot it back out with a naivete that would delight Glenn Beck. You couldn't ...

Re: Rise of Minimum wage?

I don't know which small businesses you are talking about, but the ones I know around here can't afford to keep the same amount of employees on staff for a higher wage rate per hour.

A small businesses who can't afford to pay their employees minimum wage shouldn't be considered a business. If ...

Re: Rise of Minimum wage?

What do you guys think? I've heard some talks of minimum wage being raised upwards to $9.80. Personally I think this is a horrible idea as small business will struggle even more than they already are, companies will be forced to cut hours and make less employees do more work meaning less jobs ...

Re: Troop stacking a legitimate strategy?

I've noticed some new "tactics" as of late, one of them stacking and I don't feel like Risk is the type of game where changing tactics to affect your opponents game really gives you any advantage since it's all about probability anyway. The only benefit I can see to stacking is the element of ...

Re: Troop stacking a legitimate strategy?

Biased poll, so I voted for the first option, which comes closest to my real opinion. My opinion is somewhere around "it can work if you use it at the right time" and "it's boring, but if it wins you the game, you should try it".
your chance of winning will probably increase but than again you ...

Troop stacking a legitimate strategy?

Been seeing lots of troop stacking in recent games especially in 8 man, FOG, Flat Rate, and Trench. The goal of risk to me has always been to take as much territory as you can and use up the troops gained to do the same round after round. This strategy served me well against like minded individuals ...

Re: Re:

Something like that. I can't find it right now but basically the kid sold eggs for 2 or 3 years and saved all the money for an airplane ride.

Nice. I dont sell 'em, I give 'em. My neighbor lets them forage for bugs, and I return those bugs, in egg form.

Dont preach about what you are unedumucated on Krusher.

Dobies, PROPERLY RAISED, are one of the best family dogs you can have. From the AKC website:

The Doberman Pinscher is known to be energetic, watchful, fearless and obedient. He is ready to give prompt alarm (and back up that warning) but is ...

I don't know krusher. My uncle's doberman was goofier than koolbak's. I suppose there's a chance of a dog snapping or something but the thing is you allways hear about a bad dog. Then when you hear about Funky's dog being well trained you don't even believe him. The reason a dog turns bad is ...

Re: Your Pets

I can't relate to any of you as I never had any of those breeds. But my opinion is that large and (potentialy) agressive dogs should be discouraged especially in a urban areas. I can see you having one in some type of rural farm house but in the city its just not appropriate not for you or for them ...

Re: Sparticus War Of The Dammed

This is going to be their last season and I heard that they're going to end it on a high note (you know, instead of Spartacus' execution). I hope I'm wrong though.

First episode was great and I agree completely with the description of Crassus. His son reminds me of Glabber and Batiatus ("He's just ...

Re: Your Pets

I'm curious about people who own pets. Why do you own them?

For reference, I had ferrets when I was a kid, but I would not consider owning a pet now. My roommate has a dog, which I hate. Also, I grew up on a farm and just generally don't like animals.

What's the value? All I see is a money-drain ...

My dad had a pit and even as a puppy he was just too much work you really need a active lifestyle and lots of free time to have one of them. Pits are also banned in my county.
