Waiting till round 2 gives you a chance to see what the other players do, and get some idea of how they are aligning their troops.

The typical exception is having 3 territories in Oceania or SA where you might want to take the whole continent round 1.
But that is quite rare.

I have played a few SOC games now and think I am begining to get the hang of the first 4 moves. My sugestions are now nolonger met with derision and completly changed but useually told that they are good with posibly a few minor tweaks. but... the games i have completed seemed to go strait from ...

We are taught not to attack on our first turn in part as you don't want to be first to 5 and have to cash in a rubbish set of cards.
So my question is and I think this ought to be in the society FAQ'a section or get sticked or something....

How much does the troop number for cashing in go up for ...

yes I read that. unfortunately the bit I fall down on is the (loser's score / winner's score) part. i don't know how to calculate the loser's score or the winners score.
I may be being dim but thats the bit i can't work out/find written anywhere.

I have a question that has been bugging me. How does the scoreing system work? I just won a game [game]7694811[/game] where I took the whole map. 2 players stopped playing and dropped out (both lost 21 points) 2 others remaind, the first i took out lost 28 points and the second lost 20 points ...

well if you enjoy intimidating all your new recruits....

Perhaps you could compensate by writing more verbose posts so that there is less of a gap from one post to the next?

how is it determined what colour spoil you receive? is it random or is their a way of makeing sure you receive the colour you need?

also is it possible to stop everyones medals apearing next to all their forum posts? cos it makes reading the forums damn difficult
