Re: Poker bidding tournament

We're now about to start the fourth game of the bracket, with all six players remaining and between 30 and 66 chips each.

The vote went towards randomised order.

Re: Poker bidding tournament

The final bracket has now begun (or will when everyone joins), with myself, Clive, KidWhisky, LZND661, Backside and wercool.

We're also taking a vote on whether order of play should be fixed (through invites) or randomised (also through invites, but sent in a random order).

Re: Poker bidding tournament

Clive and I agree that antes should increase for the finalist bracket. We're not sure exactly how we'll do it yet - probably increase them every time someone gets eliminated, or every five rounds if it takes longer than that. We'll decide on the exact numbers later.

Status of the tournament: first ...

Re: Poker bidding tournament

So apparently I'm supposed to be keeping this thread updated. Whoops.

The first bracket has five players remaining, and is on game four. Bracket two has three players left after two games, who are waiting for bracket one to finish before they enter the finalist bracket.

Re: An Evolutionary Tournament III (Updated 22 July)

Not that I'm complaining, but should I be 7-2 if I get no win awarded for this round?

Re: Poker bidding tournament

The first two games are now underway. HighlanderAttack didn't show up and was replaced by Clive. We are no longer accepting reserves.

Apologies. I PMed Gilligan, got no reply, and mostly forgot about this in the excitement of my exams.

Re: Poker bidding tournament [accepting reserves]

I take it that's a sign up? Then we are good to go! I'll PM a director now.

If anyone still wants in, we'll be accepting reserves until the first games are underway.

Anyone who wants to follow the tournament will be able to do so here.

Re: Poker bidding tournament [15/16]

I got all excited at having the requisite 16 players, but it seems BaldAdonis already signed up.

Ah well, just one more to go.

Re: Poker bidding tournament [7/16]

We have plenty of room. It's not generating nearly as much interest as I hoped. I wonder if that's because I made it sounds more complicated than (I think) it actually is, or just because people don't think it sounds very fun.

<i>wouldn't it be more fitting to play on the "Poker Club" map?</i ...

Re: Poker bidding tournament [3/16]

It's not 1v1. There are up to two games in progress at any point, with up to eight players in each. There may well be at least one 1v1 game at the end when all the other players are eliminated, but that's not guaranteed.

A more concise (but also less precise) way of stating the rules might be ...

Poker bidding tournament [Winner: Backside]

Okay, this is an experimental format that Clive and I are trying out. It's based on a poker game, except that instead of getting a better hand than the other players, you need to beat them in a game on CC.

I will try to use terminology as it applies to CC, not poker. So a game means a game on CC ...

Re: Can Blue Squares win in a build game????

I'd be tempted to take N2,1,5,9. At that point, red is down to 8 and you're up to 9 per turn. Fort E1 to N3 because he'll want to take them back. He may or may not fort S1 into the fray, but in either case you should be able to emerge as the eventual victor of that minor conflict, thanks to slightly ...

Make it easier to view your own profile?

Currently, I have to go to 'my games' and click my name there. If I have no active ones, I go via one of the other tabs. If I have none of them (having just returned from holiday), I search myself under 'scoreboard'. On the forum, I can also find my profile through 'view your posts', but that's not ...

Re: Wrong Turn Mafia Night 5

Can't believe how you guys were so gullible. Skoffin claims cop late on - no one believed him till the lynch of iliad then suddenly he must be cop cos he cleared a townie. I wouldn't have believed her if it weren't for ET's investigation. I assumed any kill attempts would have all mafia visiting ...

Re: Wrong Turn Mafia Night 5

Not killing anyone night four was well played. I wondered if that had happened, but decided it would have been too risky to bother considering the implications. Evidently I was wrong. Congrats.

What, all of us? If there were three, the game would have been lost after day 4.

But I suppose tonight is just a formality and all will be revealed come daybreak.

Re: Wrong Turn Mafia Day 5 Deadline set

Well, because Ice seems to want it, my claim: I am Jessie Burlingame, the hot female lead. My friends brought me on a road trip here to help get over my boyfriend breaking up with me.

I'm a mini-JOAT. I get one investigation or night kill or protection in the game. I also knew that Chris was JOAT ...

Re: Wrong Turn Mafia Day 5 Deadline set

Anyway the two things holding me back from voting Rebelman are- 1) I'm not sure Will would be able to fake that claim- it doesn't read like something he wrote. Of course I could just be underestimating Will here. and 2) Yorkie voting for him- from my point of view with two scum left Will (now rebel ...
