Congratulations to Jojo and everyone who played in the tournament. Thanks for cooperating with me in my first as an organizer, and good luck in all future games!
*Obligatory post to keep thread from drowning to the bottom of the board.
Well, I've learned my lesson. World 2.1 is way too big to do a tournament game, especially with the settings for this tournament. Anyway, the third final game is ongoing, so, only one more final game, then maybe a tiebreaker ...
Thank you to everyone who participated, and congrats to the first round winners. The final first round game should be finishing up soon, so be ready to begin the final.
The winners are: banana_hammocks (Europe) vykings_fan64 (Australia) JoJo123 (Asia) tredodici (Africa) redtide (South America ...
Maybe you are choosing not to do it this way on purpose, but in the actual NCAA tournaments the regions are East, West, South and Midwest. There is no North. I think it would seem more official that way.
Thanks everyone who joined their games quickly and easily, and thanks to the reserves who jumped in. Have fun!
Also, just in case there are any problems with the final games, if there have to be replacements, the second-place finisher will take the spot. Keep that in mind with your games. Good luck!
I hope everybody had a good vacation and holiday season, and good luck in these first round games. You will have until 12 p.m. Eastern Time on Thursday to join, so please join quickly.
I assigned continents by using the player order on the previous posts and random.org's sequence generator, which ...
bigdaddyslim2, DJ Teflon, and alex1414 are in. 2 more
Again, if I don't get a chance to get online on Christmas Day, or the day after, then the first two to post here shall be considered in, and any others will be reserves. I'll take as many reserves as I can get, just in case.
I'll play, but please, don't start until the new year. CC isn't important enough for me to justify paying a ridiculous amount of money to get internet access where I will be for vacation.
Sorry for bumping an old thread back up to the top, but I just want to let everyone know that I literally stayed up all night reading this discussion. It was amazingly interesting to read about all the development, hard work, and great ideas that went into one of my most commonly played maps. I ...
I like them all, but I want to know if #1 or #4 have a theme, title, or something to indicate their inspiration. I can see that in #2 and #3, and I think it's important.
What I like about:
#1--the territory names are short, simple, and I think they will be easy to remember once I get used to them ...
Hey everyone, wish me luck, this is my first tournament!
Format
The idea is to find a champion of each continent, who will then each square off against each other for world domination. This tournament will have six first round games, on each of the six continental maps (NA, SA, Africa, Europa ...
I'm going to jump in here to disagree about the efficiency and usefulness of government's services. In my opinion, all government, but especially the federal government, is horribly corrupt and inefficient at doing anything, especially giving the public services. If the government operated the ...
Incidentally, Squeaky Fromme is probably my all-time favorite assassin name. It's right up there with Sirhan Sirhan, the name so nice they named him twice.
If Gerald Ford-- Gerald Ford! --can have two assassination attempts, any President can. People were close to killing Ford, Reagan, and the Pope. I'm sure that there will be some attempt, from someone, somewhere, but I doubt it will get far. There are too many attention-seeking individuals, with ...
If a white person chooses to vote for a white man instead of a black man, based soley on race, he is racist. Shouldn't it be that if a black person votes for a black candidate over a white candidate, based soley on race, isn't he a racist?
In general, blacks have gone 90% for democrats in the last ...

Looking at that avatar, my deepest condolences and sympathy sammy... as this is a tough year for football in the state of Michigan, with the Wolverines and Lions simultaneously bottoming out. I'd like to think both will rebound in the near future.
I really thought Detroit was already turning it ...
