i'm going to make something for widow.

i'm voting against flags. i'm afraid they will clutter up the map once armies are added in and everything else. perhaps if we're going to vote we could see a map with flags and the armies on there together (like on page 7, but with current flags)? i think ...

Roman Empire

Cool. I like the map in this thread a lot, but would like it even more if it used the Latin names for the countries (Gallia instead of Gaul, for example.)

Regarding this issue, I made a map of the Roman Empire about two months ago that used the original Latin names, and also had gameplay that was ...

i agree that the map without the flags looks cleaner. the only flag that stands out to me is the union jack, the rest you can't really see unless you look for them. aesthetically it would certainly be nice to have them, but they may not be practical.

i also agree with whomever said that the double ...

Game Finder - glitch?

On the game finder, I no longer show the "Any" option for choosing players, maps, etc. Is this a glitch on my computer?
If not, in what forum should I get a discussion going on this? Because if this is a new format, I am not in favor of it at all...

Okay, so, I think this map looks really cool, however I disagree with the "Syracuse" title. Syracuse isn't really even the largest city in the area. Albany also appears to be in the area.

As for "Watertown"... I've spent years worth of my life in the Adirondacks, and I've never once been to ...

Central New York

haven't made it back to this thread in awhile, sorry.

the central new york region should remain Syracuse. the reasons for this are many:
1) the catskills are in the mountainous region you have on the map, in the southeast corner of the state, not in central new york. See http://en.wikipedia.org ...

europe definitely needs a revamp, but i think it's safe to say that this shouldn't be it. a funny joke though--i'm ashamed that i didn't notice it was africa until someone else pointed it out to me.

what about a roman empire map? that would revamp europe and add an interesting historical layer to ...

syracuse

first of all, i love the map. as a resident of the great lakes region, i love the shout-out and would play this game constantly.

on the same note, i must protest your naming the central new york region "albany." first of all, the actual city of albany is situated east of your demarcation, in the ...

Is it just me who still dislikes the desert?

Were there other options?

i like that the desert is there to make a boundary, although the texture of the desert and its coloring seem a little off to me. i definitely think it should stay as a dividing feature, though tinkering with its appearance ...

trade route, wall, bonuses

first of all, great map. i look forward to playing it, both for its gameplay and its historical realism.

--the trade route seems gratuitous to me. in the original game there were similar bottle necks between areas--europe-africa to asia-australia to the americas--and i think it enhanced gameplay ...

ROMAN EMPIRE (updated 9-3-2007)

http://i170.photobucket.com/albums/u260/ruthlessontogeny/ROMA.jpg

Here is the new image, with the annoying white background taken away from all the superimposed pictures. The ocean might be something I have to live with, unless someone can think of a way to change the color on paint without have ...

This should have the photo. If not, I might need some help figuring it out.

DiM--thanks for the response. all of the territories are purposefully different shades of the same color, thus suggesting their unity of region while simultaneously distinguishing one province from another. (i think the ...

ROMAN EMPIRE Developmental map (time non-specific)

please see below for the map. had trouble loading it the first time.

COUNTRIES: 43. REGIONS: 8

when i started playing a month ago, i was surprised there were no maps for the Roman Empire. so here's a first go at it. though it is time non-specific, the regions and provinces are relatively exact ...

quick thoughts

i'd love to play on this map, especially since i might be moving to SF soon, and it would help me to learn the neighborhoods!

just one thought--most maps don't have regional bridges that cross each other--e.g., western europe doesn't connect with egypt, and indonesia doesn't touch eastern australia ...
