Actually, unless he's counter-claimed, as of now I'm of the opinion that IC is probably telling the truth regarding his role, since it seems likely that a character as prominent as Han Solo would have been used.

(Albeit, it's also possible that IC was given Han as a safe claim, if he were scum.)
