Re: Classic - Revisited

I think this is cool, and in all simplicity quite different than all existing maps on CC. But I think Helix is trying to say that copyrights may be a problem, if it looks too much like commercial Risk editions.

Re: World at War - An exciting new project from ManBungalow

The multiplication of bonuses and armies to even out bad dice could be a good general feature to add to the site, so that you could play any map like that.
That's a fair point, but I can't imagine it happening anytime soon.
Why don't you try? I have no idea how it works. Is there a forum for ...

Re: Maps of Korea and Armenia

I think that a map of the Caucasus, and the Korean war would be great, but that map that you posted is way too bright and stuff. make the countries darker colors.
Sure, it's only a draft to show my ideas about the bonuses. Maybe I'll do a new draft some time, because this one seems too obnoxious ...

Re: International hotspot: Caucasus

I see what you mean: National as referring to the ' nation' , the ethno-linguistic group as a whole, as in ' nationalist'. Political as referring to the current political situation. In my part of the world (Western Europe) however, nations (and nationalities) are synonym to countries, hence national ...

Nizhny (with a y) Novgorod ("Lower Newcity") was called Gorky from 1932, so not during the civil war.

More interesting than a map of Armenia would be a map of the entire Caucasus region, IMO. I did a draft here.

Korean war would be interesting too.

Looky here, a Russian on CC! Go and have a peek at the Stalingrad map in Final Forge. That thing has a whole bunch of mistakes that I told the mapmaker (the legendary Cairns) about but he won't correct them. Says he doesn't think many Russians visit this site. Prove him wrong!

I saw one here too ...

Re: Russian Revolution 5/9 p. 1

I like this, but that shouldn't come as a surprise to you, Comrade!

One small thing: I wouldn't crop Poland and the Baltics in the west. Looks a bit messy.
And I would do the high population territories in a different way than with that orange border, for example a darker shade of brown. Before ...

Re: World at War - An exciting new project from ManBungalow

well if this is such a great Idea, we should take all 160 maps and create 320 maps, because we can use the "mogul anti-luck technique" on all maps.

As I wrote a week ago: make it a map feature, like fog of war etc., to use on all existing maps. That makes duplication of any map unnecessary.

Whether Hitler did or did not order a breakout was not the issue. The question was which commanders should be on the map. That point has been made.

Re: International hotspot: Caucasus

You obviously don't know what Axis & Allies is, I realized later, or else you would have instantly recognized it. It is a WWII board game. Basically Risk, a map with territories (land and sea), with lots of extra units (not just 'soldiers' or 'armies') and rules. Read and see more here: http://en ...
