Bonus Armies for Eliminating Players in No Cards Game

Post by befera »

What do you all think? How about receiving bonus armies if you eliminate a player?

I think this could be interesting to be honest I just thought about it for a moment and think it could be amusing to get an increasing bonus for it

something like

Code: Select all

Opponent 1:  2^1 (3 Player Max) == 02
Opponent 2:  2^2 (4 Player Max) == 04
Opponent 3:  2^3 (5 Player Max) == 08
Opponent 4:  2^4 (6 Player Max) == 16
Opponent 5:  2^5 (7 Player Max) == 32
Opponent 6:  2^6 (8 Player Max) == 64

This would be kinda cool and would put the fear of god into players to not allow themselves to be taken out by the games leader, and could easily lead to different alliance strategies to be taken on...

This way you turn a No Cards game into a semi-Escalating game. Bad idea.

The idea of a bonus for eliminating someone however can work. The bonus should however not be very high, but just an amount with which you can fortify a bonus for instance. A small bonus will lead to more willingness to eliminate a player in No Cards.

The problem with this suggestion - is that it needs to be an option...

So Cards will now be...

Escalating, Flat, No cards with Bonus for Kill, No cards.

Actually thinking about it - instead of bonus armies - perhaps 3 bonus cards... that equal a mixed set (in flat) that way you get your bonus next turn - and if you kill 2 then you have to cash your cards in... Or you can use your bonus at a later time - when you see fit.

I like it, but this needs to be refined to a two choice deal. I doubt people want to see five different selections in Create A Game.

The escalating idea was kind of neat, but it might be scaled up a bit much. If you're really eliminated five people, how the hell are you going to need that many troops? Escalating has it's way of snowballing anyway, but that seems a little excessive in far too many cases. Scaled down, I'd play that way.

A flat rate would be nice too. Five or so would seem fair enough, maybe ten?
