Until the Palestinians throw off Hamas they won't be getting their own country. Once they're run by people who aren't terrorists we can talk.
So, assume all of the Jews decide to say, "Hey, there's no more Israel anymore," and, maybe, half of them move to Columbus to hang out with Neoteny, because he's an awesome guy. And the rest stay. What happens then? Any ideas? And would that stop the Muslim side of Jewish/Muslim violence?

Apparently, their god has told them so, not according to an extremist jewish sect, I don't know if the UN is the new god but historically according to the torah, god would let jews know when they could establish their territory on this earth. Don't know what else to add, except, they are welcome in Canada and free to use Somerset Island which much like Israel's current boundaries is desolate but habitable.

NOt exactly their historical home that they were booted out of.

i wonder if we could get some native americans on the line to share how their quest to reclaim their homeland is going.
Perhaps we could get some of the different tribes of Africa to comment on how well the borders were drawn respective to their own territorial holdings, and if that has caused any problems as a result.
The notion that historical rights over that land has any validity at all is one of the weaker notions going around really.

Not what I meant. Just saying that they might prefer their ancestors home over an island in Canada.

I've studied Inuit land claims, been pretty privy to much info, live amongst the Inuit who are very much different from "first nations"/native americans and I could surmise treatment towards Inuit has been without a doubt more welcoming then how indians in the present and obviously the past have been treated. That being said, it's more about economics and the resources at hand, north americas first diamond mine sits a little more than 1000 kms from my position and the indians lost out big time from their past treaty. Now there is defunct diamond mine on Inuit property on the mainland but the costs to run it were outrageous, much like the natural gas deposits that sit north of here which total almost more than all the existing ng reserves. When we are desparate, it will be worth it, just not yet.

If there was no Israel, Germany would have to set aside some of their land, but that ain't happening.

Ummm...wasn't the Roman province in the area of palistine called Judea? Named after the Jews. Ever hear of Masada? In fact, it was the Muslums who first took those lands from the Jews during their Jihads. Now I'm not saying that the Israelis should've taken it back, but try to know what you're talking about before posting.
The big trouble with dumb bastards is that they are too dumb to believe there is such a thing as being smart.
Hmmm, Samaria, Perea, Caesarea Philipi, could it be? Could it be that this map was based off of old Roman maps?! Considering, of course, that these places no longer exist, and that the Kingdom if Israel pre-dates the Roman Empire, by quite a few centuries really.

The Middle East was carved up by the British and French so you could use the same argument to dispute who belongs in Saudi, Iraq, Lebannon, Jordan etc. Certainly parts of modern Israel were purchased ( at exorbitant rates ) by early Zionists such as Rothschild so its pretty difficult to argue that it was stolen from anybody.
It says "New Testament Period" on the map. Which is, oddly, about the last time before Israel that a Jewish state (Judea - guess what that means) existed.
