Good, for day 1 in a game with mostly new players this is going pretty well. It seems you guys got the hang of it pretty well so far, day 1 is usually a whole bunch of random nonsense until later on and someone gets close to lynch and roleclaims, then there may be a counterclaim or not, then we either move on or finish said lynch.
If someone is close to lynch (-2 or so votes) make sure you let them make a defense before you drop the hammer, the last few posts before a lynch are where they are most likely to screw up and say something they shouldn't (assuming they are scum) and possibly give us more helpful info.
If someone votes you, then you immediately vote them it's called a OMGUS (oh my god you suck) vote and generally a pretty scummy thing, even though it's a common reaction for a newer player.
You should NEVER do what me and LoVo did in the very beginning, vote before the rules go up. He and I saw Koesen working on the rules and we're screwing around which is fine here but some mods take offense to things like that.
Day 1 is always very random and players like myself and Koesen hate it (the more analytical-type players) so I'll be around and whatnot, I'll just be more active once we get to day 2. That said though, scum patterns can still emerge today (things like vote hopping, defending your scum buddies, slip-ups on roles, etc) so you should still pay attention but don't worry about putting a whole lot of analysis into it.
Just a few things that came to mind reading through what's posted so far, you guys are doing well though for a bunch of 'noobs'.
