Prime's Singles Season Brought to you by Generation One
**PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED FOR THIS TOURNAMENT**
TOURNAMENT START DATE: March 22-23
Set-Up: The tournament will feature 36 players playing in 6 divisions that will be determined at the beginning of the tournament by player score. The divisions will be: Premier Division, Elite Division, Master Division, Challenger Division, Standard Division, and Lower Division. Each division will have a total of 6 players. All games will be: 6-player/Sequential/Escalating/Chained/No Fog
Gameplay: There will be three rounds of play as detailed below. Within each round the games will be played in "Cycles." At the end of each cycle the top 2 players from each division will be promoted up one division, and the bottom 2 players will be relegated down one division. This will allow for a mixture of opponents and prevent opponent burnout.
The standings will be determined by wins. However, the standings will also show how often a player finishes 2nd and further, allowing for tie-breakers as necessary. At the beginning of each "Cycle" the records for each team will be reset, but their overall record for the entire tournament will be kept on a separate set of "Overall Standings" which will determine who qualifies for the next round. The overall standings will be reset at the end of each round. Both sets of standings will be displayed at all times.
All games will be given 40 rounds to finish. If a game goes past 40 rounds then the BOB Strength Analysis will be used to determine order of finish, and we will move on with the tournament.
Various maps will be used throughout the tournament (see below). Some maps will be repeated, others will not. Each "cycle" will be made up of mostly classic-style maps, with 1 or 2 gimmick/non-traditional maps thrown in. This is to allow for a mixture of playing styles to be successful.
First Round (3 Cycles — 24 games): Each division will play three cycles of 8 games (given to them 1 week apart in batches of 4 games). The next cycle of 8 games will not start until all games are complete from the previous set. At the conclusion of all 24 First Round games, the top 18 players in the overall standings will advance to the Second Round. The divisions will be mixed at the end of each cycle as well.
