The NEED for SPEED {sequential it is}

Post by Tieryn »

Oooooooh yeah.... THANK YOU LACK I LOVE YOU FOR MAKING THIS POSSIBLE!!!!

Woohoo,

With the 15 minute rule for speed games being dropped, the NEED FOR SPEED tournament is now a possible reality!!! What a way to come back but with my first ever tourney idea that went so horribly wrong before...

Here it goes guys...

The Need for Speed tourney is, of course, a tournament of speed games... All games will be 1v1 and will require some co-ordination and communication on the part of the players in order to work properly... On the upside, it'll get you introduced to a whole new bunch of CC folk in real time so you can chat with them... I think that rocks :) You might need to dedicate some weekend or day-off time to getting a time organised with your partner to play. Or stay up late, addicted, like the rest of us...

The tournament will be double elimination with 64 players Each round will be on a single map and settings (list to follow). If there is ever an odd number of players, a random person will get a bye. No new round will commence until the previous one is finished. You must commit to joining and playing your speed games within 14 days of creation. Rounds will take at the most 2 weeks. The first week I will send the game number and password to one player. They are then responsible for contacting the other player, organising a time, and showing up to play your speed game. Times are to be organised by PM, and then posted in the forum in GMT. (not my time, but the easiest to work with... Get to know your GMT timezone!). Missed games will incur a points penalty. If games have not been created by the end of the first week, I will send the information to the other player, who can then initiate contact and organise the game.

Please do not sign up if you are not willing to commit to this task. It will take some effort on your part, but not much.

Map lists to follow. All games will be Unlimited, Flat rate, Sequential. No huge maps will be used. Premium is required to play speed games.

Sign up for the ride of your life >:D

Do normal tournament games drop if no-one has joined them? no... they'll remain for 15 days like any other game. I'll create a test game to make sure, but I'm pretty sure they will work.

hmm. you make a good point with the freestyle issue, and since this is the need for speed, we should try make it as speedy as possible... All in so far, and I'll make the games freestyle... If you want to pull out because of that, no problem.

*nod* understandable. I'm sure this will affect a few players. Actually, I'll put a poll up, and see what the majority think...

We'll go with whatever gets the most votes over the next week or two.

If people wish to drop out when it is decided, that will not be held against you.

Okay, I could look at that... Probably growing level of difficulty.

Flat - Unlim
Flat - Chained
Esc - Unlim
Flat - Adjacent
Esc - Chained
No Cards - Unlim

(I wouldn't do no cards any other way, nor adjacent I dn't think) Maybe Esc - Adjacent.

Maybe add in a few more Flat - Unlim rounds to space it out. I haven't quite worked out the algorithm to tell me how many rounds yet... That's in the works.
