dropping games

Post by dcowboys055 »

Is there any way to drop a game once u start? it really sucks when some person leaves the game and it sits there taking up a game spot where u could be playing a game with people who actually play

There is no way to drop a game. You can either deadbeat out or just keep playing, but slowly.

You should never deadbeat. Better to play a slow game then no game at all :)

Yeah, there was but too many people misused it, so it had to be removed.

It's kinda sad that they had to remove it. How about a system where everyone votes to kick a person and if the vote is unanomous (except for the person who is getting kicked) than that person is gone, after they leave their countries go to their team mate or neutral depending on the game. Dispite having an admittedly sparse knowlege of php I do believe this would be possible although wether or not lack would have the time to do it would be another matter.

I like this idea besides for one little thing. If everyone votes to kick the person but that person votes to stay then he/she should stay. If they are there to vote they are most likely playing also. However if everyone votes to kick that person out, and that person does not submit a vote, or for somereason votes to get kicked out, then he/she will get kicked.

Yeah I thought of that but If the person is being and ass and you don't want to play with them than you have trouble. This way say I don't want to play this game I put up a poll asking to get kicked, and everyone votes me out, horray. If I'm doing it for abusive reasons then people dont' vote me out. If someone is being a jackass, but holding up turns etc. and every one else wants them out then they can vote him out. If he gets a say then he'll keep himself in. Now what options are left for out players they could try and quit but a bigenough jackass wouldn't let them. Now we're back to square 1. The issue with my suggestion is in a 4 player doubles game, player 1 gets eliminated, player 3 and 4 vote to kick player 2 there by winning. Maybe if you forwarded kick votes to peoples inboxes, that way a team mate could come to the rescue. I think we honestly have to put some faith in people and realize that most of the time people won't abuse a system. We design a sytem which is hard to abuse and we run with it.

As Hoff suggested the idea it could work. That would keep people from kicking out someone who is currently winning or near winning. Otherwise if the person didn't get a say...the games would be nearly pointless to play.

I don't think it's a good idea. Why should players be kicked for being "asses" as that's very subjective, and if they're playing within the rules of the game there's really nothing wrong.
Also people might use it if a player is rediculously strong, the rest of the players will benefit from removing him/her. I think most people won't abuse such a system but there's always a small minority.

Points well taken but Tell me you haven't been in games where everyone hates this one guy cause he just being a total ass. Wouldn't it be so nice to just be able to tell him to get the f**k out. Anyways how about a majority rules system where the vote is PMed to people and they have to respond yea or nay, if the person being voted out responds nay then they stay.
