What's your 5K time?

Post by wicked »

Saw this in the pushup thread, and am curious what everyone's 5K times are. My PR is 25:09, and I only started competing in 5K's after college, so no formal training, so I'm sure my form sucks. lol

If you run another distance, post your best time for that as well.

suggs, don't bother, we all know yours. ;)

I ran cross-country in high school for a couple of years, and my personal best was 19:45. Nothing spectacular, but good enough for the second spot on the JV squad for a little while. Cross-country was a big deal in OK where I went to high school, so you had to have about 18:30 or less to make varsity.

Fun times, cross-country.

My best 5k is 21, and I ran a 10k in 49 last year. I should keep getting better for a while, though, I'm only 14.

All right, I recant. I can manage three miles. I do it every few weekends for serious boozing nights. Takes about an hour.

Let's just say in good 'ol gym class when it was still reasonably acceptable to pick the short, fat kid last and, of course, make him guard the Varsity linebacker - he he he - anyway, in those days, if you could not stay on a 8 minute mile, you could expect to have find a little icy-hot in your drawers after you hit the showers. Today I'm sure that sort of thing would not be "tolerated".

If I remember, it's 3.3 mi to a 5K, so, uh, there might be a couple of folks here who might want to skip the showers and head to math class with the unmistakable stench of "fat kid who was afraid to hit the showers"... I used to come in safely at around 21 minutes and change... all flat going around the track though. I think if it were hills, I'd have stayed home that day. :D Just thinking about running all out for 3 mi now reminds me to check whether my life insurance covers cardiac arrest.
My ever constant two last games seem to have no end in sight!

As I genuinely don't know what you are talking about (5000 metres? sounds a lot) I think we can all safely assume you are on the money ;) 8-) :P

I managed it in about 9 minutes once, but usually it takes me nearly 10.

I should probably start doing it blindfolded or something to make it slightly more challenging...

ah the perfeact page for me.

dont have pbs for c/c as they are useless.
on track 1500m- a dissapointing 4.01
800m-1.59.3
3000M- 8:52(hate running these, never run well in them)

Mainly a cross country runner but also would consider myself a decent track 1500m runner! :D

My best mile was 5 minutes flat.
Get a heart monitor, and you'll run like the wind. I don't know what it is. But I felt like I could've turned around and ran it faster.

A heart monitor is just a little thing you strap round your chest and tells you what your current pulse rate is, normally shows it on a watch dat comes wit the monitor. don how they make you run faster thoguh! :-S
