I find looking at ugly people annoying, banning them is not the option.

Seriously, I'm talking about outside. The smell of someone smoking outside is almost unnoticeable if you're standing far enough away. Walk a few metres or friendly ask the smoker to move a little.

So, if you walked outside your house and saw some kids pissing in your yard, you would just go back inside?

Must we go here? Ok, so they are in the street in front of your house,(public property) totally naked, pissing and yelling "Firth is a bunghole!". You still just ignore them?

For the record... not at all true. I've had to stop and cough when riding by on a bicycle, and I have a friend who actually has serious asthma that had major problems with back doors at most businesses because people always went out to smoke by the back door. Trust me... outside doesn't mean nearly as much as you think.

And jay... all of those things can cause cancer. Smoking isn't a question of maybe. If you smoke, you will eventually get cancer. The only "if" is whether or not you survive long enough to quit. And second-hand smoke is just as bad.

Yes, it smells bad. I don't give a sh*t about that... I've smelled worse, and will again. But you blowing cancer or asthma attacks or permanent weakness to bronchitis or pneumonia or any other number of respiratory diseases into my lungs and shortening my life is definitely worth a law.

Yeah, the question with anti-smoking laws in not if it infringes on the rights of smokers, but if the smokers infringe on other's right to life.

firth4eva is right on this one.

Street smart move is to just ignore it. Just leave them alone.

It's plenty easy to say here that society is falling apart and people should be more involved, but in reality, you get involved if your stupid.

Or, if you're a professional trained to deal with such circumstances, like a cop. And on duty, at that.

Tell that to George Burns, who smoked cigars and did not die of cancer. Or the guy who lived to 105, smoked the majority of those years and didn't die of cancer. You could never smoke in your life and if you could keep living until you got cancer, you would.

And smokers get first hand and second hand, so spare me.

Personally, I would laugh, probably get my hose and start spraying them with water. Maybe I might start my fire, and get the poker and place it the fire for 5 minutes, then come after them with a burning hot poker.

That may just do the trick.

He is right. You don't automatically get cancer from smoking. Nor do you get it automatically from secondhand smoke. It is an increased risk but not a certainty.

My grandfather smoked all his life, lived up to being 90 or so and then died from a bad heart. And if secondhand smoke was that bad, my grandmother would have lungcancer now too as she turned 90 four months ago but instead she only has problems with walking and hearing.

There are people who get lungcancer when they're 50 or 60 and people who never get it in their life. Yeah sure it is bad for you, and certainly there are some people who can't take it in the slightest, but you're exaggerating. Most people don't seem to have any problem with it, I know none of my friends or family do.

Smoking also increases the risk of having a heart attack, so there you go.

I love this Doctor

Q. I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Wan t to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain... Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! ..... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Q: I s getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?
A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape!

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.
And remember:

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

AND.....

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.

1. The Japanese eat very little fat
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

3. The Chinese drink very little red wine
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine
and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

CONCLUSION

Eat and drink what you like.
Speaking English is apparently what kills you
