I agree. As an American who goes against the mold and is not fat, I am quite alarmed at the size of those around me.

Nah, Americans are all fat, lazy, stupid, spoiled, ignorant, superficial, insensitive assholes (not actually all of them, but I've had my share of them).

This is why, even though I was born in the United States, I try to identify myself as Russian (I am one of the few members of my family who wasn't born in Russia, in fact I am the oldest of them). My parents moved here in '88 and I was born in '94 so I had no choice.

Americans don't contribute to the world as a large (enough). In fact, being proud of being American probably ended in the fifties, and after 1991 the U.S. really did nothing to help the world (I say 1991 because the U.S. was balancing the world out (against?) the USSR, and after '91 America started to make an empire of their own).

I thought they could not cross because of the iron curtain that was not lifted until 1990-91, that's my experience of it, after 1990 loads of Polish people started swarming into the west (i'm not saying it's bad though).
