Theres no need for caps, i heard you the first time! You have made a good call here, becuase farming steals points and makes you look like a good player. But dont we all know who the excellent players are? Im being playing freestyle recently, just to see what all the fuss is about. OMG, before i can deploy ive lost over 12 countries already. Bloody clickable maps and friggin fast internet connections. Should we ban everything? Should we always complain about everything? Lets just have fun and play the game we love, when we want and how we want! Points are meaningless. Shall i carry my points to the graveyard with me?

Point farming like they do may not be honorable, but it is legal. Weather you farm 100 1 vs 1 games or 50 8 man ? games. Well all know who is doing it and it is easy to spot. Klobber takes all the BS for it, but there are many now doing it.

that and the fact that there might be way more players on cc if it wasnt for point farming
the first game i played was with klobber and 6 other new recruits (8 player, circus maximus , seq)
half of the people in that game havnt played a game since because that game fed them up so much
if they had played a real game they might have continued playing cc (and maybe even bought premium)
also klobber gained something like 100 points even tho most of the players deadbeat... i think i was the only one who didnt

not saying its just klobber im telling you an example
i know that most high rankers do it which is also ufair on the ones who dont

i went on join a game and the first 15 games were klobbers circus maximus games so i assumed that was the best and most popular game cc had to offer

turned out it was the exact opposite lol

funnily enough my first game was circus maximus. I won it too , but then I lost the next 10 games...

I find that there are any number of noobs who expect the game to be RT and get frustrated when its not and never come back. It may be easy points for the farmers but in the end I don't think its the farming that keeps the noobs from coming back

my first games on here were on circus max, chinese checkers, and crosswords. I just liked how the maps looked - not your usual risk boards. I didn't win many of my first games on here but that didn't deter me from continuing to play and eventually buying premium. I think alot of people join thinking that the games will be rt. They get frustrated that it takes so long to have a turn and eventually leave. I don't think that point farmers really deter people from leaving the site. Some of my first games were with KLOBBER. I enjoyed the challenge and got my ass kicked repeatedly on Circus Maximus by him simply because all that running around and around the board made me dizzy

Point farming is kind of like taking candy from a baby. Just because you can doesn't necessarily mean that you should. It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer was taking Karate. He was the head of the class - against 6 year olds I recently joined a Circus Max game with dfaarc. I didn't realize he was a point farmer until the game had already started and I found a thread about his farming in GD. 4 people deadbeated the game (out of 8 ). It was excruciating to wait for ppl to deadbeat. I simply don't have the patience for that. I won the game because I had a better strategy against dfaarc. While he simply bashed and smashed and spread himself too thin I patiently built up and got into position behind someone who had a lower army count. I was able to take them out, get their cards and go on a chain killing spree wiping out the remaining 3 players in a flat rate game.

Although point farmers are good against the inexperienced players and deadbeaters they simply do not have the strategy to win against experienced players.

I agree that was my first impression when joining the site. The admins really need to do more to help the first time player. Maybe their could be a short video link explaing the ins and outs of playing a game on conquer club!

I nearly joined Circus Maximus when I first joined because I figured it must be a popular map if so many people were playing. Figured it must be an awesome map, but decided against it. I doubt I would have bought premium if I joined CM first though.

that is beyond interesting! i often wondered that myself. i had a friend join that i thought would love it. he joined, got in all the wrong type of games that are far too complicated for newbs to understand, and he never returned after he took one turn. on the other hand, i just convinced another friend to join, and he is in love with the site after playing 5 doubles games with me... i for one was brought along to play doubles with jbrettlip, who was frustrated with standard game play, and couldn't find a good partner. what better way to find a good partner, than to teach him how to play how you want. if i had found this site on my own, i doubt i would have returned after taking a few turns... thankfully, a real life friend helped me to get up to speed on all things CC...-0

N00b farming is fine if that is what you want. Personally I cannot see any ultimate positive gain from procuring respect through means that attempt to conceal reality....anyway, enough of my thoughts. If you recall, the Relative Ranking thread showed who the best farmers are, so for your interest, here are the top 10 according to their RR.

When you consider that the likes of poo-maker and Rashid achieve relative ranks of 0.713 and 0.922 respectively (Rashid's is a seriously high RR considering the lofty position he enjoys on the scoreboard) then the figures above are thrown into sharp relief.

All this said, if one feels the need to garner applause and kudos through farming and not through taking on real talent (as Rashid obviously does and wins) then fair enough, that is a matter of choice. What applause is there when, say, the England Rugby squad beat Portugal compared to when they beat the All Blacks?

Points farmers may well try to lighten what they do by being flippant and trying to be clever, but in truth, it does not increase the level of their achievements one jot.

I have not bothered with KLOBBER, as his is a unique case all of its own.
