I'm surprised how much I'm struggling - I used to be pretty good at it, especially reading it. After two years in the US, I'm getting very rusty.

I don't think I'd better check into the Thoan yahoo group, I'll have no idea what they're saying now. Time to go and read some French. It took me a long while to get passsable at it, it would be a shame to let it slip away.

Just to show how bad the education here in the US is, I took 5 years of French and didn't understand a word you said.

It's unusual to do French at all, at least around here. The kids are doing Spanish.

Actually, I did French at school from age 8 or 9 to age 15, and never really got it. Later, when I holidayed in France a few times, I spent a lot of time studying it myself. I like to be able to speak the language a bit wherever I go.
I even, like, speak American, because when I didn't everyone was, like, whoa, British dude!
