Okay, we'll turn it back towards the English. I am reminded of the saying the English had for the American G.I.'s based in England prior to D-Day. The G.I.'s were accused of be "Over-paid, over-sexed and over here." The G.I.'s responded by saying the English were "Under-paid, under-sexed and . . . under Eisenhower." :lol:

I agree with one thing... I think we should find the people who are to "sensitive" and ship them back to Where ever their ancestors came from..I mean this is the forums if people cant hack it then why be here damn it? different people different opinions that is what makes this site so much fun!

I'm American by birth, but I have a multi-problem; multi nationality problem!

I'm 1/4 Serbian, 1/4 Hungarian on my mom's side
on Dad's, I'm English, Irish, Scottish, and Welsh, with a very small touch of French. So, while I hate the French anyway (it's healthy to want to improve a part of yourself, right?) I can't bring myself to hate so much of myself that I also hate the Scottish and Welsh.

i think people need to be less uptight. i am very scottish and very proud of it. but i can take ribbing and laugh along with it. pacifist and the rest of them should get a sense of humor.

p.s. has anyone seen the movie, so i married an axe murderer? makes fun of the scots so much! great movie :lol:

wow, i didn't intend for that post to become such a divisive issue. I was just trying to show how idiotic it is that we go out of our way to find differences such as a bit of an accent here and there, or an extra letter. CCers are very easily offended!

also, spelling it color wasn't snooty, it was an act of rebellion by Webster trying to create an identity for the new nation, if anything its defiant and rebellious, the completely opposite of snooty

Despite British efforts? You mean English efforts? Scotland is part of Britain. And anyway the only person in the whole of the UK who really seems to care whether Scotland stays part of Britain appears to be Gordon Brown, and he is Scottish!

As for the the color/colour thing well I can live with that but for the love of all things lexicographical please stop putting Zs in words instead of Ss, OK!
