Dariune wrote:But the whole idea of the legends was to elaborate on normal life. They told these stories to be larger than life to partly entertain and to partly proove a number of various points depending of the time point.

But having said that, one of the reasons i like celtic mythology is the stories arent just exaggerations, a lot of them are very down to earth and are quite possibly based on real events. Such as the tales of Lludd & Llevelys. Although a lot of preety wierd things happen in those stories there are a lot of points in the story which may well have happened.
who are Lludd & Llevelys just the quick version will work

Suffice to say there was a lot of fighting, a lot of alcahol and a lot of wierd creatures.

Alcohol, violence and wierd creatures, all you need is beautiful women and this would be paradise. Wait what's this?[
Jonesthecurl wrote:And a lot of exaggeration - if I had a groat for every woman who was the most beautiful woman I'd have, well. a lot of groats.
There are beautiful women! It must be paradise!
could someone please tell me what a groats?

Of course! It's something that you don't know the definition of.

So I don't think you ever said but what kind of stories do you usually write Dariune?

I usually write Sci-fi/fantasy but also do some action/adventure, drama and a lot of comedy. Some of the comedies I wrote include a joke epic starring Iam Headstrong and Brian Golong who are the school's smartest student and star quarterback respectively, a spoof of the Wizard of Oz (just substitute the wicked witch of the west with Osama and there you go), and one that was really just about the earth going to hell. In the last one, I had a joke newspaper headline (not the funniest moment but I feel like I should mention it) that read "Man Believed dead after Being Struck by a Meteor comes back as a Radioactive Werewolf Zombie."

Well, I have my first big test tomorrow. I feel pretty good about (I've studied a lot for it and have pretty much memorized all the important details. Now I just need to wait.

Either way, good luck. I'm hoping to have my Political Science Class tomorrow, but it has been canceled the last 2 days.

One of my classes got cancelled for the semester (apparently the professor is having a lot of personal issues) and now I have to take that class on Mon./Wed. instead of Tues./Thurs.

Almost sounds like my first semester of college in my English class. Though for awhile, we did have classes, then she just stopped showing up to class about halfway through (no notes, e-mails, or phone calls to let us know either), then announced she was retiring. Granted her father of 91 years of age was in the hospital, but she could have at least let us know class was canceled. #-o

Basically, it is where you discuss political parties, current issues, hot topics, etc. Like CC. Only no Brits, Aussies, Dutch, or mods. Oh, and no world conquering (at least not in the class, so far).
