Let's hope there is another fix because I'm gonna be pissed to high heaven if the Generation One forum is gone for good. There were almost 20,000 posts in that clan forum.

Backups are taken every hour, I'm guessing that someone pressed the wrong button, and used a backup that was taken when the server came back online (therefore restoring the damage)

If nothing else, the forum could at least be restored to a day or two ago, it should be fixable, how long will it take before it's fixed is the question.

geeez guys, give 'em a break. Its not as simple as 'pressing a button'. You've also got to isolate the error and make sure its not going to happen again. This stuff takes time.

We're still working with the data center to get things fixed. All the data should still be there, it's just a matter of getting it back and merged from the backup or wherever it ended up in the nether regions of rackspace's data center.

For the record, it's not as simple as pressing a button, it's not a phpBB crash, it's a database corruption. That would be akin to comparing Firefox crashing to a BSOD

It's thanksgiving weekend here in Canada, and I Lack and I only really spend one weekend a year with family, so we're working as hard as we can to get the forum back and not piss off family and significant others at the same time
