Wait...I thought....well hmm....are there going to be Intensity Gods now that the dice are gone?mpjh wrote:God, but she doesn't exist.
Um....yes? Sadly I think I've read and/or posted on every page of this threadtracedout wrote:i admit it; i skimmed through all 69 pages of this thread.
oh insomnia.

Yes! That is very very true! Go CCpookey wrote:To tell you the truth it doesn't really bother me that the Classic map and Middle Earth map have changed into absolute rubbish and you want to know why?? Because i would much rather have a running site than a shut down one, and lets face it we (as members) have another 102 maps to play on, so losing two maps isn't the end of the world even if the Classic map was the foundation of CC.
And i am sure once the two maps go through the foundry they will be much more playable again.
Well im pretty sure you have never run a thriving business then, every good manager knows that the priority is to keep existing customers not just swop them with new onesmccallan25 wrote:Here in North Carolina I preside over a criminal bench and do not get copyright or trade mark cases, but I will state this site does not need to get into any real discussion what-so-ever with us (its’ paying customers) other then changes that had to be made. The necessary changes that have been implemented would satisfy most any court that this is not a copy of the game RISK™. So any potential crisis has most likely been averted.comic boy wrote:I understand that certain things may well be best kept under wraps but can we not have some details of this alleged litigation, surely dice and wording cannot be copyright !

I find it interesting that customers on here seem to feel they have the right or need to know all of the potential details of any possible litigation. It is as if that information would enable them as a customer to make some sort of difference or possibly change the minds of the site that they do indeed know what is best. That’s just not how a business is run that might face possible litigation. 90% of the replies to this thread do show most members do not understand the potential legal aspects of the change, nor the amount of money or years that it could easily waste while a simple injunction has the site shut down. I am sure they for the most part they appreciate your opinions but full disclosure is not necessary and potentially can cause bigger issues.
What’s amusing is the amount of upset members that are going to leave over it. Do you think that is really going to make any difference? If I owned this site, I would rest easily in the knowledge for every member that leaves another new one will eventually find the site.
Perhaps with the huge amount of enthusiasm this has created on this site younger players might be interested in pursuing a career in law.
I agree with you.InsomniaRed wrote:Yes! That is very very true! Go CCI, for one am not here to complain about the maps or site, I am just trying to figure out what spoils are

I have no problem with CC changes the maps because of copyright issues but why change -
Attacks --> Assaults
Cards --> Spoils
Fortifications --> Reinforcements
Territories --> Regions

Well said!! I just gave Twill 48 hours to make a proper announcement or I am leaving this sitecomic boy wrote:I understand that certain things may well be best kept under wraps but can we not have some details of this alleged litigation, surely dice and wording cannot be copyright !

Try...erm Doodle Earth or maybe....Waterloo. You have so many choices!!!
I have checked: I have started 3 threads on various aspects of this (online petition, Scraboulous, and something else). 2 are deleted, 1 is merged here. The one merged has the poll missing.cicero wrote:As a moderator: All threads on this topic are systematically merged with this one they are not being deleted.kletka wrote:All threads on this topic except this one are systematically deleted.

BTW, why is it all merged here? to make it completely unreadable and discussion die its own death?
In common with moderation across the site if two threads are started to discuss exactly the same topic they are merged.kletka wrote:BTW, why is it all merged here? to make it completely unreadable and discussion die its own death?
Nothing. A petition is not necessary and would never be implemented. This community is still addicted no matter what they say. They don't care if the maps look like a bad Geometry problem, if they have to use spoils, or if the roll intensity cubes. Conquer Club is still as popular as always. The community knows we'll bounce back from this and things will be okay.Nickbaldwin wrote:What the bollock is a petition going to do.kletka wrote:I have checked: I have started 3 threads on various aspects of this (online petition, Scraboulous, and something else). 2 are deleted, 1 is merged here. Probably nothing, but it seemed worth a separate discussion to me, which should not be a part of this thread... But dont misunderestimate what a petition can do: http://www.number10.gov.uk/Page16590Nickbaldwin wrote: What the bollock is a petition going to do.
What will a petition do? It's not worth it, this site will be just fine. I've been having more fun in the past day using the words 'spoils' and 'intensity cubes' than I have playing the game. Okay wait. Hmm that's sad.kletka wrote:Probably nothing, but it seemed worth a separate discussion to me, which should not be a part of this thread... It is the act of creating multiple threads, which when merged lose their readability, that is causing the problem.
If conversation continues within this thread it is in the community's power to make it readable, coherent etc.
Exactly. If it's put back the way it was, we may lose CC. Evolution is the way forwardInsomniaRed wrote:Nothing. A petition is not necessary and would never be implemented.
