yes, the start of the season will be nonconference games for about a month...I will try to replicate many of the true matchups on the 2008 schedule, but will have to randomly assign quite a few nonleague games. It could be any matchup...like the Pac-10-Big-10 Challenge games or you could have Arizona taking on Illinois State...it's random.

Also, if some of the leagues don't fill up, I will just combine a couple to make one league...for example the WAC and Big Sky would form one conference.

BTW -- The SEC has now joined the Big-10 and Pac-10 as full leagues

Hurray....we're packing in quite a few players this year, so I envision having a full 64-team bracket this year (last year we did 32), plus the NIT tourney for the others.

Sign-ups continue through Wednesday night, then I'll shift any leagues that aren't full and post the final setup for the season. I will need 3-4 days to finalize schedules and other paperwork during which time I'm hoping to get a healthy reserves list started, then we'll start games Monday, Oct. 27

I considered the Big West Conference, but had to trim the list down. Not enough manpower or general interest to make this a 300 + tourney. There are quite a few other West Coast schools open though if you want to select one of them.

Full leagues so far include ACC, SEC, Pac-10, Big-10 and the MAC.

Today (Wednesday, Oct. 22) is the final day to sign up, then I will post the final league lineups (combining some of the leagues that didn't fill completely). Also, it's easier to run the tourney with an even number of players, so if we're odd by the end of Wednesday, I'll keep it open for one more spot to fill in before filling the reserve list.

Can't wait to get this started.
