I did policy debate in high school... I preferred the focus on the results rather than on the moral ramifications; though the stuff we argued seems kind of silly if you have any perspective at all. It was more of a logic game about thinking on your feet, than a real debate of the issues.

In any case, in, just so I can watch this...

You are aware that policy is a world away from LD? And the good part about this, is you have time to think things over. with 48 hours, it is hard to fall for a little trick, or as you say "thinking on your feet" is not that important.

The resolution this year is a fairly good one. So was the killing innocent people to save more innocent people one. But other than that, few I really like in the past few years.

Yes... our team had both kinds of debaters on it, and we went over the differences many a time...
