Poker, a game that takes 1 part luck, 1 part strategy and 1 part world conquest ...that's right, world conquest. Because this isn't no ordinary game of poker you're playing, this game is played with total domination and destruction of your opponents in mind. 52 cards on the table, 52 cards you need to take. This isn't you're fathers casino poker you're playing boy (or girl) you're playing conquer club style poker, and it's Poker Night at the Club!
Alright, now that I'm past my snazzy (if somewhat cheesy) introduction of the tournament, i'll explain the tournament breakdown.
Tournament setup:
Game type: 8 players Map: Poker Club Turns: Sequential Spoils: None Fortifications: Unlimited Fog: Yes
The tournament will feature 64 players with each game having 8 players at the table, with the winner advancing to the tournament's final table for a shot at the $10,000 cash prize* Turn order will be sequential just like in any standard poker tournament, there will be no spoils so that your best hand at the table will be what helps you out. conditions at the "Table" will be foggy, because honestly in a game of poker you aren't supposed to know the other players hand. you'll be able to sort your "hand" out as much as you want so that you can keep yourself well guarded from someone who would want to steal one of your precious cards. The tournament is also open to freemium players, all I ask is you keep one slot open for this tournament.
So, who's interested in playing a little competitive poker hmm?
This tournament is being organized in honor of the Poker Club map going live since I beleive it has an interesting play style behind it.
*$10,000 cash prize is purely imaginary, no real money or premium membership is up for grabs in this tournament.
Everyone above this post is locked in for the tournament.
Also to answer your question bigreuben, yes this tournament is open to freemium's and one slot should be kept open for it. I've also added that information to the main post of this thread.
First, with the holidays coming up in a month, will it be a problem if I possibly go dark for about a week? I might be able to get an account babysitter, but maybe not. If it will be a major problem, I won't join.
Also, what is the format, exactly? One round, eight games, and each winner advances to final? Or will there be more than one player from each game advancing, and more than two rounds?
By the way, very nice introduction. It made me smile more than most of the other rather dull tournament intros on this forum.
if you go dark for a week during a game and end up being kicked from the game, it won't hurt things as it'll only eliminate you and won't harm anyone else since this isn't a team tournament, it's everyone for themselves. If you go dark before the games get made, just let me know and I'll either find a reserve to step in or just shrink your game down to 7 players instead of 8. Either way, just let me know your situation on whether you need out or find a babysitter etc.
Yes, only the winner from each game moves on, so only one person per game advances to the final game in the second round. So there's only two rounds in this tournament.
And thanks, I do my best to make a nice intro, and I'm glad at least one person has appreciated it.
