Note: I had written this just before your post Twill. I believe the point is still valid. I think it is fairly obvious that a lot of people just did not understand the rules to be what they are. Why not simply clarify the mutlis rule a bit , that is, plainly say that this included forum posts ... and save everyone a bit of headache.

It seems pretty obvious that the people who are defending these guys aren't doing it for any reason other than the fact that they like the people who got busted. If it were me who was in trouble they would all be silent right now.

This may be true for some, but I think a lot of us are just plain confused. And when there is confusion, accusations of "unfairness" and "inconsistencies" are going to abound.

I am not arguing for or against, but I am saying there is a general lack of clarity here .... and that will lead to issues in and of itself.

Did anyone ever read the book "Black Like Me?" Seems we have some atheists posing as believers for the purpose of showing that they are reasonable people who should be allowed into the discussion. Sort of like the white man posing to be black for the purpose of seeing how the other half lived. It is all a question of using creative means to expose prejudice and bias, and to try to overcome it.

I am not sure this qualifies. In "Black like me" he did not become black to teach the black folks what it was like to be white ... he did it so HE could understand what it was to be black ... and then to communicate that to white folks. I liked DM, etc. posts, a lot, but I got to admit that it does bother me when anyone pretends to be something they are not.

I believe that that EVERYONE should be willing to listen to each other .. not just those with whom we disagree. BUT, a lot of people just don't want to do that or want a seperate place where they can go without facing conflict. Sneaking into those situations is ... well, sneaky. When you do that you yourself stop listening... and that just leads to more misunderstanding.

I for one have clearly never shied away from pissing everyone off, so why would I bother busting them when they can just buy back in? If I wanted them gone I would have just banned em.

The rule clearly states that you will only have 1 account. Enough of "the rules apply to part a of the site but not part b" crap. The rule is the rule is the rule.
And they want to claim that using multiple accounts (that's right they each USED more than one account, regardless of who created it) to troll a PRIVATE usergroup, which is hosted on THIS website is kosher? Please. Come back when you have something better than that.

but specifically, I meant right in the rules. Sometimes it is not enough to feel rules are clear .. sometimes you have to go out of your way to make sure they really are clear to virtually everyone. I am just saying that a line or two added to the rules will save you all some headaches. I, for one, would not have posted if I had understood the rule to be what it is from the start.

Personally I feel like the whole scheme didn't have any point anyway. There's a big difference between posting with a purpose for only a month and posting freestyle the rest of the time. Nothing got proven from the scheme other than how to break the rules.

I had not even considered the idea of leaving over the disciplining of these guys, much as i feel it was out of all proportion.

But when the answer from the customer enquiry desk is "f*ck OFF IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT", I am seriously beginning to do so.

They didn't troll anthing Twill. They used the other account to post with as a joke. There was no rule of "not being allowed to post as someone else". Ever. NightStrike even said that the only reason they were banned is because instead of doing it nce or twice, they did it for a month. But you never even gave a WARNING to those people who did it once or twice, let alone a perma-ban.

I challenge anyone in this thread to find out if this has ever been enforced EVER, since really i've never seen someone get banned for posting as someone else.

Twill says that they get to come back if we pay him 100 dollars. He makes a bunch of nonexistant claims and expects us to believe them. Basically they are 100% innocent but theres no way the moderation will actually listen.
